Spynet watch shows battery is fully charged (battery icon shows 'full' and also 'battery charged' message is displayed) while connected to the computer via USB. However, watch screen goes blank when disconnected from computer. Have tried 'reset' function - didn't work - and I think the battery tag has been fully removed but I don't want to open watch up to check in case it causes another problem. Very frustrating - appreciate any help.

Same problem. But I am able to set the location, time and date while usb connected. As soon as I pull it out, total failure. Even tried the RESET button on back, but nothing works.

SOURCE: spynet watch will only turn

If the watch turns on while it is on the charger it is just the demo tab. When you took out the demo tab a piece must have gotten stuck. You can take it out with a pin or tweezers. If that fails unscrew the 4 screws and take it out that way. If that does not take care of the issue then it is defective.

Gateway NV5378u lap top, brand new battery installed and status says 100% charged. When I unplug the computer it shuts off as if there is no battery. Could the new battery be defective?

There are a few things to check. The LED lights can tell you a lot. This will tell you more about the battery:
  1. On the taskbar, double-click the power cord icon or battery icon to open the Power Meter dialog box. Note: If the power cord icon or battery icon does not appear on the taskbar, click the show hidden icons button.
  2. Press Fn+STATUS to view the power status box, which opens in the upper-left corner of the screen. The power status box shows the current power source, the battery charge level, and the power management mode.
  3. Look at the battery charge indicator (if applicable).
    • LED green - Battery is fully charged.
    • LED orange - Battery is charging.
    • LED blinking red - Battery charge is very low.
    • LED solid red - Battery is malfunctioning. Note: This LED only lights up when the notebook is connected to AC power.
  4. Press the battery meter button on the battery. The battery meter lights indicate the percentage of battery charge remaining.
  5. Wait for a Low Battery warning message to appear.
If your battery charge indicator displays what looks like an inaccurate charge, you may need to recalibrate the battery.

To recalibrate the battery as mentioned, try this:
  1. Connect the AC adapter and then turn on the notebook.
  2. As soon as it starts and you see a startup screen, press the F2 key.
  3. In the BIOS Setup utility, use the TAB key to select the Advanced menu.
  4. On the Advanced menu, select Battery Auto Learning, and then press the SPACEBAR to select Enabled.
  5. Use the RIGHT ARROW key to select the Exit menu. On the Exit menu select Exit Saving Changes, and then press ENTER.
  6. At the Setup Confirmation prompt, select Yes, and then press ENTER.
  7. The battery recalibration process begins and a screen opens showing you the progress.
  8. When the recalibration has finished, and the message "Press [Esc] key to exit" appears, press Esc. The battery charge indicator now displays an accurate battery charge.

Hope this helps!!

My spynet video watch won't charge.

If you have a Iphone charger base unplug the wire then just cilp in the long retangular part of the usb charger (also works with a nitendo charger) then plug itno the wall connected to the watch. not everyone needs a computer used to charge it!

I have cannon digital camera IXUS 255 HS. I

Dear Tejas Belani,
I hope you're still reading this but I had exactly the same problem with the Ixus 255 HS as you describe (full battery - false message - filled battery icon when looking to pictures on the memory card).
After some failed rescue attempts (recharging, completely discharging, 10 second hold of on/off button), I think I finally found it: put a small piece of paper or carton in between the battery opening door and the battery. This pushes the battery a couple of millimeters deeper in the battery bay and ensures a good contact between battery and pins at the other end.

Seems like Canon were a bit cheap on the plastic levers that secure the battery ... or perhaps they erode after some time of usage. This type of camera is often exposed to more aggressive conditions than the bigger, more expensive camera's out there :)

Spynet watch will only turn on when connected to computer usb. I set time and date and display shows that the battery is charged. when i remove it from computer, nothing works. i tried the reset also.

Make sure the plastic tab is completely removed from under the store battery pack. My tab broke and we had to take the watch apart to remove it. Once we did this, the watch worked.

Hope this helps.

I bought our son a Spynet Video watch for Christmas and we charged it but when we removed it from the charger, it turned off and wouldn't turn on. I then thought maybe we needed to download some kind of...

A bit late to the party, but two things come to mind. If the watch is new old stock with a few years on it, more than likely the battery is bad, it won't charge any more. Also, the power supply may be bad, I use 5 volt one amp charger, also, the manual says to charge it with the screen on, I tried that, and the battery will never be fully charged because the screen being on drains the battery faster than the charger can charge it.If the watch is working but the battery is low, connect the charge cable to the watch, then to the charger, otherwise the charger will pull the battery down too. So, let the screen go blank, then charge it, I have tried this method multiple times, and every time, assuming the battery is good, it fully charges in few hours. If you are adventurous, you can upgrade the battery to 450mah, it's a little bigger than the one it comes with, but lasts a lot longer, only a small amount of modification to the plastic strips made into the watch back need to be done, simply remove the strip closest to the electronics and it will fit just fine.

Hello, Pdschanz -

Since the watch was a Christmas gift, it is probably still under warranty.

I hope you found and downloaded the instructions for the watch, saved them in a Documents file with a file name you can find again easily, printed the instructions, and read them thoroughly all the way.

If you have not yet contacted Customer Service for the watch, I suggest you do that after reading through the instructions and the FAQs near the end of the instructions.

Is there any such thing as charging my mps nextar MA933a via the USB port? I just get sleepy z's on the display when I connect it to my computer.

Here is what I found:
Connected the player to the PC with and without prior power on successfully
OSD first displays message “Starting…” then:
Icon appears on screen with a picture of a computer monitor to right and mp3 player icon to left
When mp3 player is communicating with computer or sending information, an appropriate directional arrow appears between the two icons; when transferring files using Windows Explorer, the arrow reverses direction appropriately; when there is no activity either way, a series of “Z z z” ‘s appear on screen
Battery indicator icon also appears to right – new AAA battery resulted in a fully charged icon upon startup; no battery whatsoever resulted also in a fully charged battery icon appearing

Philips mp3 player sa6045

This player shows the "Do not disconnect" message when it is doing something critical such as transferring tracks or updating firmware, which could corrupt the player if disconnected part way through.

The player shows the "OK to disconnect" when it is idle. As the message says, it's ok to disconnect, as the player will not corrupt if disconnected when it is idle.

These messages mean that the player does not need the "Safe to remove" procedure.

It is ok to disconnect part way through charging. Also the player will condition the battery once it is fully charged, so it's ok to leave it charging.

Occassionally batteries can "memorise" when constantly disconnect and reconnected without fully charging and discharging. To help prevent this, fully discharge the player (leave on until dead) and fully charge and condition (leave charging for about 12 hours) every couple of weeks or so.
