Same exact problem. 2 hours later and a bottle of really good chardonnay did nothing to help my frustration.

I get this too. I don't know how to stop it happening in the first place, but if you find you can't record after it happens, this is what sorts it for me:

Go to 'Devices' and then 'Device Set-up'. Make sure you're in the 'VST Audio System' part of the menu. Click on 'Set to Defaults', then 'Apply' and 'OK'.

I have to say, though, I'm finding the Omega a total pain because of all these random issues!

Have windows 7 64 w/soundmax integrated HD audio. What benefit is ASUS driver ?

You mean add-on ASUS sound card?
You will get better sound and maybe ASIO driver support.
On board HD audio requires more CPU cycles and does not support low latency ASIO drivers.

ASIO driver for xp

If you're not using ASIO4All then do, if you are getting a time out on the download the problem is with the site or your ISP most likely. Try another site.

I've just bought a us-800 and installed everything correctly, including the updated driver and it works with media player etc, and on it's own but when i try to use it with cubase 5 nothing happens! i've...

Steinberg software requires an ASIO driver in order to utilize audio interfaces, whereas Windows Media Player uses a WDM driver I believe. I would start by looking for the ASIO driver for your specific hardware interface (or even use a universal ASIO driver) and see if it is detected then...google should help you find what you're looking for :)

Running digi 001 on windows 7

i got digi 001 running on windows 7...
i left my xp on hard disk while installing win 7. it kept xp on folder windows.old folder. in control panel i saw digi as multimedia adapter wich system couldn't recognice. hit "change settings" -> driver -> update driver
used my old windows to search for driver. it found "Dalvin.sys" driver for adapter. installed that. after that windows recogniced digi 001.
downloaded "digidesign asio 6.11" driver installer for win-xp and ran it.
and bingo - it works!
in every step windows was complaining and asking do i want to do this. just yeah'd everything. as i just had a clean install of win 7 i just thought whatta heck i can install everything again if it would not work, but it did.

so in a nut shell:
1: install Dalvin.sys in control panel for digi 001
2: run digidesign asio 6.11 driver installer for win-xp

for me it worked but i absolutely take no responsibility if you mess your system with this! at least reaper got a sound out of it. i haven't tried to record anything yet. but asio settings seemed to work as they used to do in xp.

ASIO Driver give chopper sound in fl studio

You might wanna try to increase the ASIO buffer size (perhaps a lot) ...
And if that doesn't help, you might wanna try the www.asio4all.com driver

Not soppot asio in fl studio

Try a different ASIO driver. I would say that the sound card that you are using does not come with an ASIO driver so the software can't use the card correctly. I recommend ASIO4ALL. It is free to download and works with almost all soundcards and audio devices in Windows. You can get it from www.asio4all.com.

Best of luck.

H4 randomly stops recording on cubase le

I may possibly have solved this. I didn't realise that when I log off from Cubase, the ASIO driver returns to the Multimedia ASIO driver, which seems to be the default setting.

Every time I want to record with the Zoom H4 in future I'll need to reconfigure the ASIO driver to the H4 one.

I thought once I'd set the driver, it would remain there every time Cubase booted up. Apparently not.
