I got one of these on a cruise, and I had the same issue, and searched on the web just now (7/26/08 9:20pm) and could not find an answer.....so, I just sat here for a few minutes to push all the buttons...
Mine has 4 buttons at the 2, 4,8,10 positions....corresponding to "start", "reset", "mode", "light"
Hold down the "start", then while holding it down, push the "reset" button.....voila!
