Rock Band 3 Wireless Keyboard Logo
Posted on Dec 31, 2010

I bought rock band 3 for wii. I plugged in the dongle for the keyboard and followed the sync instructions exactly. the lights flash on both devices, but when I let go of the sync buttons, the lights on the keyboard go off and the keyboard button has an x. I really would like to play this game, so any help is appreciated.

This can be frustrated the first few times. Here's the likely issue: the wii version will not activate the keyboard (or drums) if multiple wii remotes are active and all-instruments mode is not enabled.

The multiple wii remote thing: one remote is considered the microphone, and the rest guitar controllers (you can use the wii-remote based wingman and guitar hero guitars with this title). Once you get to two plus wii remotes on, you can't add more.

So, assuming one of your guitar controllers is active, use it to go into the menu system and turn all instruments mode on. Once done, a wii remote is no longer needed to be used for singing, and now singing will be turned on by default (but you can ignore it). Now, your drums and keyboard should work fine.

Eventually, the game smartens up and turns on this mode automatically for you, but the first few times it does not. I nearly threw the game out the window the first day or so.

HI there! i have the same issue, and i follow your solution, but still the same, my drums works fine, it's only the kayboard which no't.

Ok , i won't lie . My wii is hacked, so i don't know if that may is the issue, and if it is, can be solved just with buying the original game?.

Hi there. If you are using a hacked Wii, and can change the IOS that the game uses, use IOS223. I have WiiFlow and I had the same problem, but looking on the internet, keyboards for this game use IOS223. Hope this helps.

Have rockband game been trying to sync guitar but all that keeps happening is the blue lights on guitar and dongle keep flashing. Please help

Are you pressing the sync buttons on the component and then pressing the sync button on the console? It is under the large door on the front of the console.First press the guitar sync, then it should give you a couple of seconds to press the console sync.If the light goes to constant blue,it is synched.Do the same for the other component.Good luck and rock on!

I have guitar hero rock band set and bought rock band. The guitar an drums are set up on wireless how do you sync them to work with this game?

look on the instruments for a red button. press this button at the same time you press the red button on the front of your wii console. this should sync the system to the controllers. (the guitar should already be synced since you plug the wii remote into it, but do it anyway)

Guitar will not sync

With the guitar turned on, go back and press the button on the receiver dongle (the part with a blinky blue light that plugs into the USB hub that plugs into the back of the WII).

How to sync drums to wii rb2

If you look on the USB Dongle. If there is a blinking LED that means the Dongle lost connection with the drums. Hit the Black button and all should be fine.

Rock band guitar will not sync to wii

For me it was the white box that connects to the back of the wii. I tried everything from changing batteries in the guitar, to pressing white button on guitar, to restarting while holding white button down to screaming at the wii. Then I bought a new rockband guitar at best buy and the new guitar did not work until I swapped the white box (dongle?) that connects to the back of the Wii. One is for the drums and the other is for the guitars and mic. Hope this helps.

I can't get the drums to sync with the wii system

On the USB Dongle Included in the rock band set. If there is a blinking LED. Hit the button included on the Dongle. That should fix it.

"You may need to press the drums button aswell"

Rock Band Guitar -- flashing lights only -- won't connect

Hi!!! I had the SAME problem! My guitar would just blink and never sync with the wii. I finally got tired of waiting to hear from EA games for a replacement and took the thing apart! I was able to find the problem. One of the connections on the board was loose! If I pressed down on the loose connection it would sync! I had my husband re-solder it and now it works great! I've attached a picture of which connection was loose.
