Hi. I read your answer, unfortunately not helpful for me. I do use 2500 mAh NiMH batteries. The behaviour is strange. Usually fully charged batteries cannot recharge the flash capacitor more than 3-4 times. Very seldom something happens, and after some ON/OFF trials I can take some more pics with flash. I try to treat the batteries as required, but that does not help.

We had the same problem and it was so very frustrating. We sent the Camera back for assesment and repair only to be told there was nothing wrong with it. The solution was so simple we felt like real dummies.
All you have to do is use Energizer Lithium Batteries, since we started using them we have not had a problem with Batteries going flat or that annoying Battery indicator flashing.
