Just bought a new LG Axis smart phone today and after loading some applications from the application market on the phone, whenever I went to view an application I kept getting an error message that the attempt failed. I tried shutting down the phone and when I turned it back on it now is frozen with a black screen and the word "Android" flashing across the screen. I can not shut it down now and the menu nor the buttons work - it is just frozen with this black screen and android on the screen. I took the battery out to try to reset it and this did not help - it came back up and showed the LG start up screen then immediately went to the black screen with Android flashing on screen. Any suggestions?

Actually, just got my back today from repair. Called Sony ericsson about the problem and they told me to send it in for repair. 'Cause it's under warranty (Which I wasn't asked if it was) I also went ahead and asked about the broken keypad. it took less than two weeks. Had to use my old s710. So far I have not been able to find a solution. Maybe flashing the phone could help. I think that's what they did. Because it looks like it came from SE instead of Att.

Hi,

Try this.
settings>applications>Manage applications>(select the "ALL" tab)>select "Market"
then "Clear data"

Download the latest market .apk file from thegadgets.net, make sure you keep it in the root directory of SD card. Once downloaded, install the market app with the help of apkinstaller

If still the problem persist hard reset your phone.

SOURCE: I have a HTC SMART

This phone is considered more of a feature phone than a smart phone. Android hasn't been ported over for this phone and wouldn't run on it due to the limited amount of ram and processor in the phone. So even if you have an unlocked HTC Smart there is no way to run or emulate any of the Android operating systems on it.
Also BREW (the operating system on the HTC Smart) is NOT compatible with any Android Applications out there so you will not be able to run any of them on your current phone.
