I have recently installed windows 7 into my lenovo y410.. i couldn't install sound drivers from drivers cd given.. plz help me out..

Hello windows 7 is not a supported system, but your can download the vista driver here:

Hi. Since Lenovo Y410 are legacy machines. you may try downloading the softwares to other machines. Most of the lenovo machine shares same harware resources. You may cick here for Windows 7 drivers.

Lenovo 3000 Y410 is not designed for windows 7, I don't think that Lenovo will make drivers for windows 7, you can try to install the Vista drivers. here is the link for 32 bit, they did not release any 64 bit drivers for this model. you can download and save the drivers to your computer then right click the installer then click properties, click the compatibility tab then select run this program in compatibility for Vista Service pack 2. If it still doesnt work you can try to run Windows update and hopefully microsoft have some patch for that.

i have install windows7 in my y410 laptop and the sound driver is not working in it.it shows an error massage while i am trying to install the driver.

Hi, Please try downloading the latest soundcard driver from the sound card provider and it will fix the issue. I too did the same and now it works for me.

Next time it goes off, have a look to see if you have a service/process called Windows Audio running. Click Start & type "services.msc" in the search box (presuming you are using vista), then just press enter.
Look for "Windows Audio" & "Windows Audio Endpoint Builder".
Make sure they are running/started & set to automatic.
The problem could be a driver that did not install properly, a codec that did not install properly or a Windows update that did not install properly.
