I'm trying to load my pictures onto our iMac computer, and my camera says "communication error". I've never had this problem before, and have always been able to load pictures just fine onto our computer. How do I fix this?

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you an use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

The flash card may be corrupt. You should be able to verify this by trying to download the pictures using a card reader instead of the camera.

Thank you.

Picture error

I would recheck all of my settings on the camera. Go to the menu and check everything one by one. Your card may be damaged also. Do you have another card to try? Do you have your manual? If not you can to to www.olympus.com to download a new manual specifically for your camera and it may address this issue. Good luck.

I have a Nikon coolpix L4 camera, and a new imac computer. I want to transfer my pictures to the computer.I put in the Nikon PictureProject 1.6 disc and nothing happened. Please help. Thank you. Celia...

you don't need the software to tfer pic once the camera is connected to the computer turn it on. It should load the drivers for the camera and ask you what do you want to do. if it does not then go to the drive letter location and find the extra drive letter their this is your camera open it up and search for your photos. hope this helps if it does not work their is a error in between the communication if the camera and computer.
