I'd like to program my new Direct T.V. Remote to my new Samsung TV, to make the volume "SLIDE" up & down instead of manually pushing the "up button over & over & over.....to turn the volume up. How can I do this??? I have 3 samsung tvs and they all do the same thing!!!! I am dyin' here I have to find a way to do this. My dad is a computer engineer and can't figure it out and my cousin is a software guru and neither can he. If there is someone in cyber land that can help with this PLEASE HELP! Not only is it a pain it is slow and my thumbs are sore!

PaulTulsa is actually incorrect, Directv remotes do allow this function. I had this problem too... but was able to fix it. You have to go back into the system settings menu. Depending on your receiver (I have the hr21-100) press "Menu" then scroll to "Parental, Fav's & Setup" then "Sytem Setup" then "Remote" then select "Program Remote". Scroll to "TV" then select the brand name (I also have a Samsun tv). Follow the directions to change the code of the remote and manually go through the codes they have posted. The second one worked for me. Good luck.

Paul is WRONG. I tried another code just now it worked! you can hold the volume button down and adjust volume upor down. I own a samsung and a directv receiver. 5 of them and just programmed them all!
