WHITE SPOTS

This is a DLP projection tv. In it the image is generated by reflecting the light from the bulb on a DMD chip - a chip with a million tiny mirror that are individually controlled. When a mirror no longer works it reflects constantly all the light it gets , so you end up with a white spot on the screen. This is unfixable, the entire DMD chip will have to be replaced at a great cost - the chip itself will cost you less than $200 but the install and adjust procedure is very complicated so an experienced repairman will ask you at least $250.

There are spots on the tV that are tiny white dots. It appears that some of the tiny bulbs have burned out and I wondered if it can be fixed. There are about 5 or six scattered across the screen.

This is a failing DMD board and is really not a user replaceable item. Please contact your local TV techncian for correct part number to be ordered and replaced.

White spots on screen and growing every day

If these spots are small, they are likely the visual effect of a failing DLP chip. When some of the tiny mirrored surfaces on the chip stop moving, this is the result. This is not something you can fix yourself. A Samsung authorized service center will charge $400-$500 to replace it for you.
