Error code f7

Hello Samir Girgis - Typically F7 indicates that it is a potentiometer failure error code has occurred and indicating that one of the surface burner switches has failed. Contact a professional to move forward accurately and to assist with the repairs.

My stove poped and went off. I tripped the breaker and now the oven will not heat. Neither the top or bottom unit.

First I would look at the heating element in the oven and make sure it is all in one piece. there are usually one on the bottom and one on top. sometimes they will burn apart and short out to stove. if they look ok then do a quick check, I would turn off all knob on the stove top and oven. then try to reset the breaker. hopefully it resets ok. then turn on one at a time and see which burner or oven element has a short. when you find the bad burner or stove element it will trip the breaker again.
hope this helps

Stove top ignitors do not ignite but oven does.

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

For the GE XL44 model, where would i find the pilot light? the stove is not working

There is not pilot light on the stove top since the burner is activated by a spark generate by high voltage to a small ceramic disk with a wire protruding from it by the burner.
You have the have AC Power to the stove and you should hear a clicking when you slightly turn on the burner. Once the burner is on fire then turn the burner control to the desired temperature. If the burner will not light after 4 seconds of clicking sounds turn the burner control off and make sure the round gas diffuser on top of the burner is correctly seated on the burner. It should lock in place and is removable for daily cleaning of the stove. Now try the burner control again in the light position for no more than four seconds to see if it lights.
Do you smell gas? Do you hear clicking when slightly turning the burner knob? If yes to both the stove is working and the top of the burner is not seated correctly. If no on either or both you may have a stove, electrical or gas problem.

Oven wont turn on and f7 keeps beeping, but stove top burners work on ge spectra xl44 on model number jgbp86bea3bb

Hi there,
Well, F7 error code occures due to
A = Function pad button stuck or
B = Bad clock Unstick button or
Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC)

Replace the ERC there are ten screws 3 on each side and 4 on the control leave the hex screws alone all you need is a phillip screwdriver.
REMEMBER TO SHUT OFF THE POWER FIRST lift and fold out the control panel remove the ribbon cable and remove the four screws that hold the control board . replace control panel in reverse order.

Good Luck!!
Have a nice Day!!
Thanks

Ran auto clean for oven and cleaned stove top, not auto lighting

One. DO not use self clean on ranges unless you want to replace parts.
Two. Replace the thermal overload fuse.
Three. The manual should be in the console head.

Ge spectra gas stove top not lighting

If your top burners are not lighting or will not work, it is possible that the burners have become dirty or wet. Please follow the troubleshooting directions below before calling service:
  1. Turn you burner to the Lite position:

If you hear clicking or sparking, go to Step 2.

If you do not, check your circuit breakers. If the circuit breaker is ok, we recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.

  2. Clean the burner and electrode:

First remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Use a needle or paper clip to poke through the holes on the burner head. Re-assemble and try the burner.

Remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Even if it looks clean, wipe the tip of the electrode with a clean, dry paper towel and PRESS IT DOWN. Re-assemble and try the burner, again.

Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 3.

  3. Re-assemble - Make sure that each burner top matches its burner bottom. The burner top will lay flat if put on correctly.

Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 4.

  4. The spark igniter is operating properly, but the burner is still not lighting. At this point, we would recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.
