My problem is, when I take my colt out for more than a couple of miles it jerks really bad, and after a couple of jerks I will lose all acceleration, I press the gas peddle and nothing happens no noise or anything, the car doesn't shut off, but will not go foward, sometimes it will **** again and i'll get acceleration back other times it will not, once I apply the breaks after I lose acceleration my car will stall, and it will sometimes start right back up and other times it will not......... I also have a problem starting it sometimes, it turns over but I might have to turn it over for 10 to 15 min before it actaully starts, then it usually stays on and will run but sometimes it only stays started for 30 or so sec then dies, any advice of what to check would be helpful, I've already changed the distributor cap,

my 1995 Pontiac Bonneville has started jerking while driving. The other day we had a heavy rain and the car stopped. I got it started again and got it home. Help
first started tochug really bad at highway speeds then bog down when accelerator was pressed near full it would take off like nothing wrong then clear up after about mile or so then sometime later it just stalled and would not start for about ten minutes then ran fine for 15 miles then did it again at low speeds then started fine but didnt want to go then went anthor 10 miles same thing would start right back up but would die soon as i put it in drive and sounded like it was sucking lotta of air in the engine bay
