We refilled the ink cartridges and then an error message was displayed.........352 ? maybe. Not sure as another familymember was trying to use it and I was not around.I suggested turning it off for awhile and after that it would not power up. Have confirmed power source and cord are good.
Re: We refilled the ink cartridges and then an error...
In the presence of error ##352, the carriage unit will not move to printhead replacement position even
when the inner cover is opened. Moreover the carriage will not be locked in position even when the
power is turned off. When replacing the printhead, be sure to turn off the power, and draw out the
carriage before replacement.
(1) Turn off and then on the power.
(2) Turn off the power, and replace the printhead.
(3) Replace the SPCNT board.

Regarding your recent inquiry about the Epson T071 ink cartridge error message ("Ink Light is red", "Cartridge Not Recognized", "Replace Cartridge", "Installed ink cartridge is expended." or similar cartridge/printer alert message) associated with your Epson SX200 printer, the cartridge probably has a mis-programmed smart chip...
NOTE: If you had the cartridge refilled, the cartridge chip must be reset. Re-programming, which typically yields a green light to show success, it does not always result in correct smart chip reprogramming. It is also possible they may have forgotten to re-program the ink cartridge. If a compatible/clone cartridge, it could be a reprogramming issue or defective chip (which is common). Or, such a failure could be an electrical failure of the ink cartridge itself*. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do from home....the chip(s) need to be re-programmed (at refiller) or replaced with a new cartridge from vendor.
*OTHER POSSIBLE CAUSES OF FAILURE:
Either the external chip or internal ink sensor is electrically bad (the internal ink sensor detects if cartridge is really out of ink). If you return the cartridge to your retail refiller and they re-program the cartridge(s) a 2nd time but the "replace cartridge" message, or similar blocking message persists, then this is the likely cause and the cartridge will need to be replaced with a new one.
1) Confirm if this is just a nuisance/annoyance alert (i.e. "non-genuine" cartridge ) vs. an actual 'unrecognized cartridge' alert (i.e. Red X's on printer display / Windows pop-up message). Please visit the following Inkjet411 support page which will help you delineate the difference: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=73
2) On some Epson printer models you may need to scroll thru the menu options AT THE PRINTER'S CONTROL MENU (i.e. right arrow key) to help determine which specific ink cartridge is actually causing the 'Unrecognized Cartridge' error condition. On the other hand, for general 'non-genuine' cartridge alerts, typically you can bypass these errors by clicking thru the acknowledgement prompts or via the arrow keys: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1939
3) We suggest you remove all the ink cartridges, inspect the smart-chips condition (on rear side) and ensure there are no cuts/gashes or ink residue present on the micro-chip surfaces. To be sure we suggest you clean the micro-chip surfaces; click here to see 2 different pictures of this along with cleaning instructions: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1939
4) If the error continues (following ink tank re-programming a 2nd time), then we suggest you install a new genuine Epson ink cartridge into the printer to verify the permanent PRINTHEAD is functioning ok. Here is how the PRINTHEAD works: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=2054
NOTE 2: Following refilled cartridge installation, your printer/computer may display an ink alert message such as "non-genuine cartridge" or "you have not installed genuine Epson ink cartridges" - these are COMPLETELY NORMAL alerts when using refilled ink cartridges. Press proceed/continue/accept/yes/OK to dismiss the prompt. In some cases you may have to scroll over using the arrow keys to dismiss the alerts. Additional alerts may be displayed the first time you go to print or copy - dismiss the alerts accordingly to resume normal print operations. For more information on Epson ink cartridge alert messages please visit: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1939
-------------
CAUTION: Be advised, the use of compatible/clone cartridges (i.e. sold thru the internet from overseas) are known to be problematic and may cause printer errors or permanent PRINTHEAD damage (especially for 3rd party inks which contain volatile organic compounds or VOCs). We do NOT suggest refilling these types of ink cartridges.....refilling of Epson original/genuine ink cartridges is only suggested!
NOTE 3: If, after replacing the cartridge(s), with brand new Epson Original ink cartridge(s), is the only solution which corrects the problem, then you likely have a defective cartridge (internal ink level monitoring circuit), unrelated to the refilled cartridges. If, after replacing the cartridge, or cartridges, with brand new Epson Original ink cartridges, does NOT correct the problem, then you may have a defective PRINTHEAD (i.e. permanent electrical sub-assembly which the cartridges plug into). For more information please visit our support page which explains the natural degradation of PRINTHEADs over time: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=2934

How to use refilled cartridge when Canon PIXMA MX320 series detected already errors in your cartridge?
I have a canon Pixma328 and have been refilling ink for black and color cartridges for quite sometime now. The cartridges are close but after I drilled a small hole on the top part of the cartridge using a small screw, there I find a way to refill the ink that I bought from an ink refill store. The procedure needs extra care, not to touch the contact point (copper) because its sensitive and not to damage the inner part of the cartridge when I insert the needles of the syringe used for transferring ink.
After refilling the cartridge, the next thing to do is to reset the cartridge. This will clear your printer from displaying common printer errors like U053, U051 and U052. The importance of the "reset the cartridge" procedure is to avoid the printer from detecting your cartridge as reused one. The steps below is recommended to do after refilling an ink cartridge. 1. Turn off your printer 2. Press and hold the STOP/RESET button 3. Press and hold Power ON button 4. While holding the Power ON button, release the STOP/RESET button 5. While holding still the Power ON button, press twice the STOP/RESET button 6. Release the Power ON button 7. Wait until it display an "idle" message. It will take about a minute. 8. When "idle" appear, open the top cover to expose the cartridges. 9. Lift up the cover for cartridge holder and take out both the black and color cartridges 10. Return the cover of cartridge holder and turn off the printer 11. Return the top cover and turn on the printer again 12. After the printer initialize, return the cartridges.
What happened when ink ran out from a refilled cartridge and the printer detected it? The printer will display an error U162 or U163. All functions of the all-in-one printer will stop and your printer will not work. The next thing you will know is you are in the front of a computer shop and buy a genuine canon cartridge. But wait, there is still a way to fix this. Reset it again using a different procedure. Reset the detections of reusable cartridge. 1. Turn off your printer an turn it on again 2. After the printer initialize try to copy or print. The error will appear. 3. When the error is displayed on the display panel of the printer, Press and Hold the STOP/RESET button and wait until it self restart. 4. Release the STOP/RESET button the the printer is restarting. 5. Wait for a few seconds and the pending print jobs will commence.
We suggest
you first attempt the basic/universal Canon ink level reset procedures before
attempting any of the more advanced procedures provided on our Inkjet411 site*
A. Standard Ink Level Reset Procedure
(printers without LCD display):
[ Refer to
the 1st support video: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=62 ]
1) At
computer screen message, select 'Stop'/'Reset', 'OK', or 'Resume'.
....or....
2) Select
'Stop'/'Reset', 'OK' or the 'Resume' button (triangle-circle icon) on your
printer for 5-8 seconds:
-
Printing may continue under the 'ink out'
condition.
B. Standard Ink Level Reset Procedure
(printers with LCD display):
[ Refer to
the 2nd support video: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=62 ]
1) Install
cartridge and start print job.
2) After
first message appears, click 'OK' to continue. Printer should start printing.
3) If second
message appears and printer's LCD screen displays error code "E", then DO NOT
click 'CANCEL PRINTING'.
4) Press and
hold down 'Stop'/'Reset' button (triangle-circle icon) on your printer for 5-8
seconds. Printer should start printing.
If you are
able to produce a self test print, this is good since it illustrates that the
cartridges are electrically stable...if you observe any 'E' or 'V' error states
(i.e. E13 or V162 for example), this may indicate there is possibly an internal
electrical problem with one of the ink cartridges. Refer to your user guide if
E/V error messages are displayed.
*If, after
following the suggested ink monitoring/level reset procedures, you still have
an error condition which prohibits regular printing, then the ink cartridge
probably has internal electrical damage (micro-electronics failure); such a
failure is unrelated to the ink cartridge refilling process. Typically, when
the cartridge fails the problem is 'masked' by the ink out/empty condition so
it can be difficult to distinguish between the two. Many cartridges eventually
do encounter problems or failures, especially after their original ink is gone
and they are re-used, and this is often unrelated to the refill process (i.e.
typically ~2 years from original manufacturing date). Refer to picture at
bottom of this page: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1533
To verify the Canon printer is functional, install a brand new cartridge in it - this will 100% confirm whether your refilled, compatible or remanufactured ink cartridge is faulty or not.

The 'Ink Alert'
or 'Low on Ink'
message displays on the computer or on the product control panel. If the cartridge has been refilled or re manufactured, 'Low on Ink'
or 'Ink Alert' or error messages appears on display panel.Replace with the new genuine cartridge which is showing error on display..
An ink tank that was once empty is installed. Replace the ink tank. Printing under the situation may damage the Print Head. Canon shall not be liable for any machine malfunction or damage caused by refilled ink tanks. If you want to continue printing with the refilled ink tank installed, press and hold the [Stop/Reset] for at least 5 seconds, and then release it. Using refilled ink tanks are memorized. * This operation will release the function for detecting the remaining ink level
B. i am not sure but is working on 520 1. print mono or print color for color 2.stop 3.ok 4.on/off
Switch the printer OFF
Press buttons 1 + 2 + 3 and 4 (simultaneously using four fingers)
Keep pressing this four buttons for 10 seconds
Release the On/Off button (number 4) (Keeping pressing the others)
After a few seconds (when the printer go ON) you can release buttons 1, 2, 3
Maybe step "c)" is not needed
This procedure was used when I refilled the Black cartridge - try
using the ColorCopy button instead of BlackCopy button (number 1) if you
refill Color cartridge.
Maybe there is no need for all the four buttons - you can try 1 + 4, 2 + 4 or 3 + 4. (or 1+2+4, 1+3+4, 2+3+4)
Hi there Dell Printer 944 error message 1102 Please unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Now plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has. Now open the printer with the power on and the cartridges should go to the center to be replaced. Take out both Dell Series 5 ink cartridges and make sure the tape is off the cartridges and insert both back in and make sure the seat properly and latch. Close the printer and it should print an alignment page. If you still get the error message Why does my Dell ink cartridge level still show up as "low ink" after refilling them? Dell ink cartridges have a sensor that reports the ink level as low once it reaches a certain level. The sensor can not be reset. If you refill an ink cartridge that previously reported low ink, it may print fine, but the sensor will always report low ink. Buying or replacing ink cartridges with new Dell cartridges will resolve the low ink message. Dell discourages ink refills. Refilling ink may lead to print quality problems, and even eventual hardware problems. This post is in no way a validation of refilling ink cartridges. Why my printer is reporting “low ink" after using refilled/remanufactured ink cartridges? Most ink cartridges have sensors that report the ink level. The “Low Ink” is usually the last sensor (fuse) before running out of ink. Since the sensors are fuses that open when the ink level drops, they cannot be reset. If you are using refill or remanufactured ink cartridges, the best thing to do is to disable “ink alerts” on the printer’s software so you don’t keep getting “low ink” messages. To disable “Ink Alerts” on Dell inkjet printers: 1.Open the Dell printer software (All-In One Center, Tool Box, etc) 2.Go to Settings 3.Advanced 4.More Options 5.In the “Appearance Mode, window, check “Never display the Printing Status window” and “Display the low ink alert only when the cartridges are almost empty. Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

For the Canon Pixma MP220, I kept getting a message saying "Col Ink Vol Unknown" after refilling and replacing a cartridge. After reading some of the other responses it appears as though Canon cartridges contain internal chips that prevent you from using them after they have been refilled. However, I tried a few things and this is what worked for me.
1. Insert your refilled Canon cartridge like normal, close the lid.
2. The Error message "Col Ink Vol Unknown" should still appear.
3. Use the "Menu" button to scroll to "Maintenance" (press "Menu" 8 times to find it), then press "OK" to conduct a "Nozzle Check" and a coloured test will print out.
4. The Error message will still appear but you will be able to print using colour AND with black and white. For some silly reason the Canon Pixma MP220 won't print using black and white if there is no coloured ink...
Complete the steps below in the order presented to resolve the problem. It might not be necessary to complete all of the steps.
NOTE:
The
printer will not operate unless all six ink cartridges are installed.
Also, HP cannot guarantee the quality of refilled or remanufactured ink
cartridges.
Step one: Reset the printer
CAUTION:
Do NOT perform any other type of reset on the printer before the ink initialization process has been completed.
Without turning the power off, remove the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall socket.
Wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cord to the printer and to the
wall socket. Turn the unit on if it is not already turned on.
Check the printer for the error message. If the error message still displays, go to the next step.
Step two: Clean the cartridge contacts
Lift the top cover.
Figure 1: Lifting the top cover
Locate
the ink cartridge indicated in the error message. Squeeze the gray tab
below the cartridge slot to release the latch and then lift the latch.
Figure 2: Unlatching the cartridge1 - Black cartridge2 - Color cartridges
Remove the cartridge indicated in the error message.
Figure 3: Removing the cartridge
Gather the following cleaning materials:
Distilled, filtered, or bottled water. Do not use tap water, alcohol, or platen cleaners.
Lint-free cloth or swab. Eyeglass wipes and coffee filters work well.
Lightly moisten the swab or cloth and squeeze out the excess moisture.
Holding the cartridge by its handle, wipe the copper contacts.
Figure 4: Wiping the contacts1 - Copper contacts
Replace the cartridge and then close the latch and the printer top cover.
Check the printer for the error message. If the error message still displays, go to the next step.
NOTE:
The printer may take up to 15 seconds to clear the error and recognize the cartridge after closing the cover.
Step three: Replace the cartridge
If the error message still displays, replace the indicated cartridge with a new cartridge. Or Please let me know what is the exact error message you are getting.
