Water goes into the machine ok at the start of the program.when the motor should kick in there is just this wishywashy sound but no movement in the drum.The red light on the front then flashes fast.I have checked the belt and this is in place.The machine model is WIXL123S.Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect. Possible that the motor is jammed or has friction , check the drive for free movement, faulty motor can also be a reason.

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or back feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET valve to open up and allow water to flow into. If this does not happen then the voltage at the inlet valve must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Remove the filter at the front and make sure this is all clear then when thats out make sure the impeller turns ok. It should ping round in stages.



Then check were the drain hose goes to make sure this is ok. After all this retry machine on rinse and spin with nothing in and see if it goes through ok and drains the water fast enough.

As it sounds like it could possible be a draining fault.

Possible these object woul dhave got logged into the shaft or the gaps within and thereby made the movement tight. The program controller initiates the motor but since the mechanism is jammed the motor is tripped. So use a multimeter to check the motor , the voltage to the motor so as to confirm . If so remove the assembly to reset. Check manually with the hand - power disconnected- till there is free movement.

Please be carful as running the agitator without enough water will overheat and kick out the motor, however it should be ok when it resets itself.
Yes, the machine should stop agitating when you lift the lid so this too is part of the problem.
After looking at the print I can only suggest that the cam contacts in the timer ( contacts 12 and 14) that start the motor are burned and stuck together.

H i there.....sounds like you've got either a failed water inlet valve....or a disconnected /ruptured capillary hose from the pressure switch to the tub....or a failed pressure switch........turn water to appliance off.....turn program selector to drain or drain /spin..is drain pump running...if not it may be blocked or burned out....or with machine empty of water.....turn program to spin....if no spin...check motor....

There is a plastic coupling that connects the motor to the transmission. They very commonly break. If you google frigidare washer parts, you can easily find a parts breakdown. Cheap fix.

sounds like the carbon brushes in motor,Or motor has had it.

Replace capacitor first. Good luck!
