This error is related to several issues. I wish your problem is not with the Firmware. First of all try the following:
If the error still persists, try re-seating all the cartridges and drum including the Fuser Unit. I would also recommend you to clean the printer using a Blower/Vacuum Cleaner (this is not compulsory, but as a remedial so that we can make sure it's not related to minor issues).
If there is a Ram or Memory installed, please check and clean the metallic contacts. If possible try with another Memory stick.
If nothing seems helpful, try the steps mentioned here (Click Here). You can download the same document as Html here (Click Here). It will open up in your browser.
Your last option is to Update the Firmware which is only possible and could be done by a professional..

Hi @Kkendric, this post is about HP LJ M3035xs and if I am not wrong, many features are not with M3035 Hope this helps...
M3035xs does not have de check, select or menu... should start with stop and then press 6 and after press start
