However, HP says that this printer driver is in the Windows 7 OS. Try doing a Windows update.

There is no downloadable driver for this printer. You just need to update the Windows 7 list on your computer with the latest update. Here are the instructions from hp:
The drivers for your HP product are already included in the new Windows 7 operating system! You do not need to download drivers to use the product . Simply connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable, and Windows Update automatically installs the driver for your product.

The driver located in the Windows 7 operating systemdriver, some of the buttons on the product do not function and some of the advanced product features are not available. Install the Windows 7 in-Operating System (in-OS) print driver
When you connect your printer to the computer, Windows 7 detects the hardware and automatically installs the correct driver. A notification lets you know when installation begins and when it is complete. You do not have to download any software or insert the product CD.
Step one: Install the in-OS driver
Follow these steps to install the in-OS driver in Windows 7.
NOTE:
The computer must be connected to the Internet for Windows Update to detect and install your product.

Step two: Print a document
Print from any software program to make sure your printer is working correctly.

Therefore, you might not notice that the process is in progress.

i updated my driver for my hp1220C on XP after a crash that stopped the valuable print preview function working ...(printer worked but was print immediate - -and no tool box options etc) . i can't believe i found how to fix the driver ... you need to right click the exe file [before running it] dj1074en.exe or whatever ... and 'properties' - 'compatibility' click near 'compatibility mode' 'windows 2000' - then run it ... and voila -- i now have the print preview and all the lovely functions back again!!!! crazy!! took me 3 hours to find this ... it may well work with vista -- to select the windows 2000 option .. don't know that one ... at least until HP update all corectly and clearly

Hi. Please check your if you have 32-bit or 64-bit system. Download and install the correct driver from HP. Again, please use 64-bit bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit.
To check if your system is 32-bit or 64-bit, click "START" then right click "COMPUTER" then select "Properties".

HI goto www.hp.co.uk or www.hp.com and select support and download select the operating system and which printer you are using and the updated driver is available to download.
