Re: Air is not getting to the fridge from the freezer....
Your drain hose in the freezer must be blocked with ice and its freezing the airway to the fridge ,you have to let it defrost for at least a day or use a hairblower on low and defrost the freezer
if after the tube is unfrozen, you can pull the back of the freezer off from the inside, use an ohm meter check the resistance on the defroster bar if ok its the defroster assembly located in the fridge ,where you adjust the temperatureif after the tube is unfrozen, you can pull the back of the freezer off from the inside, use an ohm meter check the resistance on the defroster bar if ok its the defroster assembly located in the fridge ,where you adjust the temperature

Ice build up in the freezer is usually caused by one of these problems. You may have an outside air leak from one of the door gaskets. Check the gaskets for proper seal and any cuts or pieces missing. Second possible problem may be your refrigerator is not self defrosting as it should. Cause of this could be a burned out defrost heater. With a bad defrost system, you normally will start to have your fresh food temps start to increase over time( about a week) and some food spoilage.
sounds like a defrost problem. if the freezer section gets too much frost build up then it wont be able to move air into the refr section. check to see if you have "heavy" frost in the freezer and if so then a defrost thermostat or a defrost control board may be you problem.
this alarm is activate if the temp. of the fridge rises and because the freezer section is full of ice form thats why affect the circulation of cold air. try to check the defrost timer if yuor unit have or heater if working if dont have defrost timer or heater try to lessen the setting of your themostat to cut of unit after reaching desired temp. or conduct weekly defrost manually.
Occasional defrosting is needed on these units. 2 weeks isn't that bad considering the environment that it is in (your boat). Every time that you open the door, moist air enters the fridge, and the moisture eventually collects on the freezer plate, and freezes. Putting foods into the freezer that are uncovered also contribute to this a great deal, as do putting in warm / hot foods before giving chance to cool down.
These freezers do not have automatic defrosters. The target environment typically has limited power available. Automatic defrosters would easily double the power requirements.
You can also check the door seals on your fridge as well. If they are not sealing properly, they can also let in humid air which then causes moisture to collect on freezer plate.
Look in the fresh food section (Fridge) and see if the cooling fan that blows cold air from the freezer is running, when the door switch is held closed, you might be able to feel and/or hear it while looking up at the "roof" of the fridge section.. Also, check the freezer section to make certain that you don't have food or boxes of frozen items blocking the vent that allows cold air to go from freezer into the fridge. Sometimes this is nothing more than an overstuffed freezer, which can lead to poor air circulation between the freezer and fridge. Another common problem is that when a overstuffed freezer section stays "stuffed" for a long time, (3-4 weeks), the air flow channel between the 2 sections can become frozen solid, thus preventing any air circulation. The fastest way to check for this and attempt to resolve this is to empty the entire fridge and freezer (into a ice chest/cooler, etc.) and allow the unit to defrost completely, but unplugging it and allowing both doors to stay open. Get some towels ready and wait at least 3-4 hours for a complete manual defrosting to occur. Good time to give the unit a cleaning while you're at it!
When done, close the doors and plug it back in and see if the freezer and fridge get to the proper temperature. You might want to reset the temperature controls to the factory defaults as sometimes people keep lowering the temp control trying to get things colder than they need to be.
Try defrosting freezer, sometimes when the defrost thermostat fails it causes ice too build up behind the walls of the freezer then it restricts the air flow to the refer side. If it works after defrosting then you probably need to get a new defrost thermostat.
Power surge can cause problems such as you have. I am not familiar with your brand but it sounds like the defrost timing circuit is your problem. Defrosting the surface of the back wall is not the answer. The cooling coil in the freezer is behind the back wall normally and a surface defrost does not do the trick of defrosting the coil.
