I have a DCS 27 inch double wall oven. The LCD's that indicate the oven temperature (the red LCD's) have gone dim so that they're barely visible. Everything else works including the LCD's for the clock (the blue LCD's).
Had the same problem last week - called DCS (which automatically transferred me to Fischer-Paykel) and was able to order the part from them. They knew exactly what it was, and shipped to me in CA from CA, it was less than $90. Just installed it, and the new one works swell. One suggestion - I drew with a Sharpie on one side of each of the three parts that plug into the board to help align the new one, and to install the wide ribbon cable (not really a cable, but you'll know what I mean), pull up on the two side pieces and the ribbon pulls right out. Keep it up and slide the new one in and then push the black piece down. That was the only part that took me a minute to figure out.
Have DCS WOS 230, same display fading issue, called DCS and told them I wanted the 211696 EOC Double display module for $95.99, they tried to tell me I needed the Control System Kit for $335.72. After many minutes going back and forth told them just ship the the 211696 and I would take my chances. Took 10 minutes to put in and everything works fine. Do not let them try and upsell you.
Hello Friends!
This dimming vacuum display is either caused by a power supply failure with the control board, or a the filaments of the display themselves have started to wear-- similar to that of a bad light bulb. Either way, FixYourBoard.com can solve this problem- This control board is no longer available to buy new. Contact FixYourBoard.com at 512-355-1108 for more information. The photo below is from a double oven, but they repair single oven displays too.
I have a DCS-227 Oven. The broil Element in the middle does not turn on ( but around it does).
Please help
It's technically a VFD ( Vacuum Flourescent Display ), not an LCD ( Liquid Crystal Display ).
My 30" DCS double oven had this exact problem - first the red ones faded, then the clock got dimmer and dimmer... Unfortunately, the fix is to replace the display unit.
You can get a new one from your local DCS distributor, or may have luck calling DCS ( which is owned by Fischer and Paykel now ). Mine cost me $125 or so - installation isn't difficult for the mechanically inclined. It fixed the problem.

I have a 30" dcs double oven. the control panel light is no longer visable. The clock light on the same panel is illuminated, but all the red lights for temp and timer are out.
I had the same problemwit my DSC double. I called Fisher and Paykel. The customer rep recommended I call a service rep. When I asked if it was a common problem she said no but it had been reported before and the part was an EOC (electronic oven control). I gave her my model number and she ordered the part number for me.
Installatin was a little tricky but everything works now. Total cost $92.00

Does anyone know the part number to the display? I have the same problem and called DCS but did not have the same response. They do not know what part it so they faxed me the Display Components list with about 30 different part numbers.
My 27" double oven display just dimmed for the 2nd time in 9 years. When I called today, I was told that I could no longer buy the individual part, but had to buy the entire unit at a cost of $325.
This is the second time in 5 years that my control panel light went bad (is no longer visible). I believe that this must be a poor design or a poor quality EOC Double Display Board. I called DCS who is now owned by Fischer & Paykel and they informed me that they can't even buy these boards new anymore. I have to send the board in for a rebuild and the cost is $300+. I love my DCS oven, but can't afford to repair the Display Board every 5 years. Is anyone else having this problem and does anyone else know if these boards are available through some other source other than Fischer & Paykel?
I just changed the board. Second one in 10 years easy but expensive fix. $400 w tax and shipping
Fisher and Paykel has the part #211696. A new dble wall oven is thousands
