Im trying to use the dlink dap-1522 as an access point for my already created network. The network is WEP protected, and when I plug the dap-1522 into the computer i can edit settings, but i cannot use it as a wireless access point to boost my signal to my laptop across my house. I don't understand what to do. I've read through the manual.

You can download the latest version of the firmware you need below. Just determine if you have dap-1522 or dap-1522 rev.B. The serial number, hardware version/revision information, MAC address
and model number, will be located on a label on both the outer box, and
on the adapter itself, usually attached to the bottom of the unit. Example picture on the bottom of this page.

Maybe you have the wrong 192... Go command prompt and type in "ipconfig" without the quotes. scroll up and find the default gateway (default gate way . . . : 192...) and type that in your browser and press enter. If that doesn't work, go to your network connections and right click on the one that is connected click properties, click on Internet Protocol Version 4, click properties, and make sure all the settings are automatic. Restart computer, repeat first part. If that doesn't work, reset your router and access point. Than reconnect and repeat first part.
Plug directly in the DAP-1522.
Set your PCs network settings under TCP/IP, alternate config:
IP Address: 192.168.0.10
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.50
I think I was having a similar problem with my DAP-1522 ... FW Version 1.10 being used as an access point. I recently discovered that I was not able to connect to the configuration pages using a web browser by typing in it's IP address (192.168.0.50). When I originally set this up device up on my network, it worked just fine, but at some point in time, it stopped working. My solution to this problem was to set the switch on the back of the 1522 from Auto to AP, then re-boot the DAP-1522 by removing power, waiting 10 seconds, then plugging power back in. Once the AP re-booted, I was then able to access the configuration login page by typing 192.168.0.50 into my browser. My DAP-1522 access point is connected via port 1 to my D-link router, a DGL-4100, via a DGS-2208, 8 port gigabit switch. Hope this helps!
