for paper jam, dont simply pull the paper out of the printer, this will damage the feed mechanism of the printer. but if already did, just open up the cartridge door of the printer (also check on the duplexer at back if it has), check for paper tear, clean rollers if you can too. this is the manual for your printer aswell since you lost your copy:

I plug my printer into a power strip that has its own switch. This saves on having to reach around the printer to get to the regular switch.
