Its newmatic right just put a few drops oil right down the air feed and a moisture trap inline off the compresser would be goodHowever the picture looks like its electric and you don't realy have to do that now its prelubed and shouldn't be an issue for many hours of service. If it is air then wd 40 works fine the problem comes in when they sit with out use for long peirods of time they rust and seize and thats hard to fix
Idon't know what they mean unless there is a centrial port and instrucions for this opperation. It would have to be for the main drive gears that would handle the direct force in the gear box that would have sepperate from the motor and sealed. They can't mean that the unit has to be disasmbled on a regular basis wheather you use it or not. This is a good one i would call factory derict and find out what there trying to hide from you like a defect that they know about and when it brakes its all your felt because you didn't take it to an rep to be manitaned. Isn't that why you buy the tool in the first place so you don't need anyone else to do the job. I use lots of tools im in bisness and iv'e seen a big decline in the quility of a lot of tool companys and dewalt is one of them they make things to homedopt standands sell them cheaper but ther not professional quitaly tools. I wish i could look at the thing but something is not right with what they are telling you best of luck with it
thanks for your comments and advice. I appreciate you taking the time to offer assistance.

sorry, I didn't specify, but the dw293 is electric. The owners manual says to lubricate every few months, whether its used or not.
