If the menu is in 100% Chinese its difficult but using a translator find the translation for language it will be two symbols then find those symbols in DVR menu , press ok and that should present you with 3 languages choose English thats it.
On Control Panel-Touch Screen, Down right Side there is a tab to change the languages/Language Setting.
Even if it is Chinese or Portuguese language showing just click on the down right side button on touch screen, a new menu will appear. From there you can select your desired language.English-Chinese etc.
You can change it in setting then general and then select international there is option for language by which you can change your language in english or any other
Hello, That's the same camera I have! I can help you.
Follow this sequence to reset all the settings so that the language becomes English:
Turn cam on
Press the "menu" button.
Press right directional key (marked with the flash symbol)
Press down directional key to go to the bottommost entry of the menu (which is the reset all option)
Press the "set" key (in the middle of the directional keys)
Press the up directional key and then "set" to confirm.
There. you're done. Now you don't have to learn Chinese to use your cam!
EXTRA NOTE: BTW just in case this applies to you too; When I first got my cam, I had trouble finding the timer option to time the shutter (1-2-3 click!) It's called "drive mode" in this camera.
Press the MENU button. Use left/right to select the wrench icon. Use up/down to select the "Date" option. Press the MENU button. Use up/down to select "Set date." Press the MENU button. Use left/right to move from field to field, up/down to change the numbers. Press the MENU button to confirm, save the changes, and exit.
This is mostly from page 23 of the manual. If you've misplaced your manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at http://vivitar.com/files_products/10/ViviCam%20X327%20User%20Manual.pdf
i got one off ebay just a few fays ago and the language was stuck in chinese, so after just testing the MP34 i found out how to change the langauge into English.
Click into the 'two rotating items',
Then, go down to the 4th settings, i.e 04/11. This is Languages.
After entering that, click into the 2nd option. i.e 02/25. This is English settings.
And hopefully it should be done.
