We have the xbox 360 Halo 3 speacial edition Console. It has RROD once, was sent to microsoft for repair and works great. Now it will not play any cds at all, and the tray has had issues opening and closing, but seems to be working ok right now. We can play games online just fine and the box seems to be working fine, but just wont read cds/disks. Can you help us figure this out? Dont think the warranty is any good now, since weve had it over 2 yrs now. Any suggestions? Thanks and god Bless! We are willing to fix ourselves if we must as well, thanks.

IF THIS TRUELY ACURES EVERYTIME YOU TRY HALO 3 AND NOT ANY OTHER GAME, YOU HAVE ONE OF THE RARE BAD DISC'S. SEND IT TO MICRO SOFT AND THEY HAVE A PROGRAM CALL DISC EXCHANGE, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN YOU XBOX.COM SERVICE SECTION ON THE WEB. YOU'LL BE PLAYING HALO 3 FINDING YOUR SKULLS IN NO TIME. THE ERROR MESSAGES COME FROM TWO PLACES. EITHER YOUR DISC WITCH IT WILL STATE DISC ERROR, OR CONSOLE ERROR, WITCH USALLY GOES AWAY. CHECK ALL CONECTIONS BEFORE SENDING THE CONSOLE IN FOR REPAIRS. REPAIRS COULD TAKE TWO TO THREE WEEKS. HAPPY GAMING AND HOPE TO SEE YOU IN GEARS OF WAR 2.
the odds are very good... The error is caused when there's a problem with video, either because
the A/V cable used is broken, or what's even worse, when Ana, the Xbox
360 hardware scaler chip is damaged.
Also try this take the AV cable, plug it out and plug it in, if it still
doesn't work unplug it, wipe the metal part with a soft cloth then
plug it in. That might help. But i bet you will end up sending it off again.
your xbox is gunna get the rrod soon (red rings of death) my xbox had this prodlem few days later rrod happend technically the only thing you can do is well w8 for it to get the rrod and send it in if you got your warranty still if no warrenty is on it well have fun paying 140$ to get this problem fixed or go on youtube after it rrods and look up the xclamp repairs for xbox 360 i have used it on several xbox 360s it seems to work fine after words
I would try deleting everything off of your memory units. (Including your gamer tag) Go and restore you factory defaults on your console again without any hardrives or memory cards. Reset your console and re insert the memory unit. Go to the dashboard and recover your gamertag. Re download any mappacks you may have purchased. (Dont worry, it will be free.) Then try it all again.
some time your laser is a little wack but if you are haven trouble like that then send it to repair and youll get a new xbox so it works out for you.. or just buy the 29.99 warranty on your box and get a 350.00 new box in 2 weeks. i did that once wen i still had warranty on it so.
Your Xbox is overheating. Its a common issue. You can do as I did and strap some fans to the bottom and help cool it off. Eventually you will probably get a RROD (Red Ring Of Death). At that point you will need to send it in to Microsoft for repair.
