I need a operator and service manual for a Dewalt 734 planer. Where do I get one?

Try going back to basics. Yes, I've been caught out by something silly and obvious! Are they the correct OEM blades for that model? Are there washers/spacers fitted on the mount screws? Are they the correct screws? Have all the access covers and cutting guides been refitted correctly? Has the depth guide been set correctly?
Some planers can be fitted with thicker or thinner blades depending on the model. Washers/spacers may need to be fitted under the blades so they are 'trapped' and lift the blade high enough to clear the screws. Are the original screws 'dome head' or 'countersunk'? Domes will sit higher and touch the wood as the blade spins. The access covers, cutting guides and depth gauges could be out of position affecting the cutting platform.

Take it to a small appliance repair store.

It's easier to find parts and manuals with model numbers. On the Dewalt service website (http://servicenet.dewalt.com) they show your motor number is substituted with part number A00903. If you do a parts search on that motor you will see it fits four different Delta planers, all but one has a manual listed under downloads. Find the model closest to your planer.

Check the planer product label on your DW733. DeWalt has two DW733 (type 1 and type 2) models. I have had the same problem with my planer since it was new. I hate this planer. The way I fixed it was to pull the feed rollers off and put one washer in the hole the pressure springs are on the rollers. I also put about a 1/32 washer under the hold down plate for the roller. It allows the rollers to put more pressure on the wood. Now it works perfect. If it sounds complicated, it will all come together when you take it apart. You take the bottom off to do all this. Trust me it works and is worth the trouble to do it.

Go to Dewaltservicenet.com and in the middle of the page at the bottom type in your model number DW733 on the next page click on the type you have under instruction manual.
