My datatraveler is not detecting in my desk top and also it asking to formate but it not complete the formate

Check the data traveler if it is loose or the usb port is blocked and in case of formatting data traveler use default setting thank you don't forget to vote :-)

Kingston datatraveler 8gb was unable to complete the format

click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP

click start right click on my computer select open
Right click the icon of your Usb Drive (It should be E:/ or something)
Click Properties in the menu that comes up
Click the Sharing tab
Click permissions
And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.


click start click on my computer to open you should see your drive
right click then select format

click start control panel administration tools computer management disk management right

click on your usb drive select format

I forgot my pass word and cant get into desk top

Hi

Do one thing. Try to install your OS again without formating your Drive, just overwrite the OS.
and it will ask you a new password when your instalation will completed.

My kingston 2 GB pen drive asking to format. When i click format, "Windows was unable to complete the format." and also in command prompt. pen drive g:/ is not recognized as an internal or external...

connect it to PC then... go to My Computer icon on desk top >> right click >> manage >> Disk management >> select ur USB Flash Drive/pen drive >> right click >>format ....ok......

64GB Kingston DataTraveler won't format

Try using someone else's computer to format it. If that doesn't work .... then it sounds like the drive itself has sustained physical damage. I would contact whoever sold it to you and ask them for a Return Merchandise Authorization (if you bought it recently) because it is probably dead.

yeah if u pull it out that might harm your pen drive.

the proper procedure to unplug the pen drive is 

at the bottom right of your desk top.you willl find a green arrow mark jus click on it once u will b asked "safely remove hardwre" and then you will get a message sayin "now its safe to remove you pen drive"

now its safe to remove the pend drive
