Question about La Crosse Technology WS9245UBKITCBP wireless temperature station with in

1 Answer

We just got a new Weather Channel wireless temperature sensor 9245. It seems that the transmitter isn't working. We followed the directions and put new batteries in the transmitter first, then the receiver. The receiver shows the "bleep" like it is looking for a signal but that shuts off after 2 minutes. We've tried it with the transmitter in close range in the house and in different positions but still no luck. Any suggestions? This was a Christmas present and the givers will soon be asking about it.

The new batteries could be defective or installed incorrectly. Remove all batteries and start over again. Be sure to let the transmitter initialize and begin sending data before you install the batteries in the receiver. If you can't receive a signal, the transmitter may have failed.
I have an Oregon Scientific receiver that is within line of sight of the transmitter and receives nothing......

I put new batteries in Transmitter and never got any temp reading. The unit is less than 2 years old and is not working. Is there anything I can do?

  • Remove all batteries
  • Install new batteries in transmitter
  • Wait for transmitter to initialize and begin transmitting temperature data
  • Install known-good batteries in receiver
  • Observe outdoor temperature reading
If this doesn't work, the transmitter or receiver or both may be defective. I find in very cold weather the transmitter stops sending the temperature.

Why does outdoor temperature display only show = signs?

The outdoor sensor probably uses solar energy to charge a battery that powers the wireless transmitter. The battery may be defective or the charging circuit may have failed. The instructions that came with the station could provide some troubleshooting tips.

Oregon Scientific WMR86A wind sensor does not communicate to the base station. It is a new device, first time assembled.

I believe the wind sensor is a rotating cuff that has a wire which needs to input into the main reader or the wifi unit.if it's the wifi unit you need to check the receiver is picking up the signal.if it's the main readout then check the connection.if it is wireless, you may find a switch on the transmitter to change channel.this may fix the problem, especially if the receiver is near other wireless or bluetooth equipment.

My acurite model75321a1 does not tell out side temperature

I checked my Acurite instruction file and found it rather vague about this issue but based on my experience with a similar system I found that battery changes have to be made at the transmitter first, allowing time for the transmitter to begin sending temperature data. Also, the Acurite instructions suggest use of lithium batteries in the transmitter where extreme low temperatures are encountered. My experience has been that the transmitter stops working at low temperatures so the reading comes and goes depending upon the weather. Currently it is 20 degrees F outside headed for 5.

How do I set up my skyscan temperature transmitter

These devices are very particular about how they are set up. You are supposed to insert batteries in the transmitter first then wait awhile until it gets in the mood to start transmitting. Next, insert batteries in the clock and wait for the two units to begin "talking to each other".

Aqua systems wireless weather station. Temperature reading is incorrect and exterior sensor and indoor sensor have different readings even when side by side.

Is yours the colour screen one? I thought I was getting the same readings from both units no matter where I put them, but I put a bag of peas on top of one unit and the temperature and humidity dropped massively so mine seems to be working, even if it didn't seem to be working to begin with. Weird unit, why the two sensors anyway, I dont get it.

Cannot get the weather station model ws-916ou-it to show outside temperature

I have three of these WS-916OU-IT units. After a few years, the outside sensor just fails. You will get dashes and a "TR" low battery signal, even if the batteries are good
just buy another whole weather station (short money) and set both the old and new weather station unit to receive from the single new outdoor sensor.
To do this - just follow the procedure for a single sensor - that is - put the batteries in the new sensor - then within 30 seconds - put the batteries in all the weather stations - they will all pick up the same outdoor sensor.
I now have three units running off of one outdoor sensor.
Seems a bit silly, but it works.

LG wireless dvd reciever system

Hi, I had the same problem, it seems to be a design error of LG or a typical problem with some component in the wireless transmitter. It is basically caused by the transmitter heating up, leading to a clock drift with the result of the receiver losing the signal. I tried to cool the transmitter in the fridge before using so it will run for about half an hour before producing this error (depends on the room temperature as well). My solution is to remove the plastic case of the transmitter unit and place it in a cool place where it does not catch heat from other devices. Without the case it does not overheat and also takes less space, just be careful if you have children. I placed the naked Tx unit behind the TV so it does not matter. Hope this works for you as well.
