I have just bought a new Samsung washing machine WF431ABP but I have only got a cold water supply until I can plumb for a hot water supply as well. Will the machine work in the mean time with just a cold...

Couldn't find anything on it but I would recommend hooking the cold to both using a Hose Y-Connector to make sure the hot side has pressure tp protect the pump and avoid possible back flow.

Hot water supply to washer works, but not cold water

Probably the small filter screen in the cold water supply line is plugged up with sediment. The screen will either be directly on where the hose connects to the supply line, or may be on the rear of the washing machine where the cold water supply line connects to the washer, usually a simple screw-on just like a garden hose.

Does a wff2001 washing m/c work with only cold water supply

it can but you must connect both water valves to the water supply this is because most machines take just hot water on some programmes those above 60 deg just nip down to your local diy place and buy a "y" splitter screw this on to your cold water supply tap and connect both the hot and cold hoses to it then connect them both to the machine

Is the washer a cold or hot water fill?

I think only cold water is enough. The washer machine will warm up the water.

Does the wma76 hotpoint need a hot water feed? Is a cold water feed enough?

Hi from retired Englishman in France (it's 21:29!),

If your washer has 2 pipes for feeding water then one is for hot and the other is for cold naturally.
All washing machines have a water heating element in them- in case any hot water supply is not hot enough for its wash.
If you only have a cold tap you will need to purchase a 'Y' connector. This screws onto the cold tap supply (single end) and the hot and cold feed pipes connected to the washer screw onto the other two ends. The machine will now be fooled into thinking it has two separate feeds!
The machine opens the valve for the 'hot' water supply (which of course is cold) and the heats it up to the required temperature for the wash cycle. Afterwards, when the machine requires cold water for rinsing, it opens up the 'cold' supply (which is the same supply as for the hot water!) and is happy.

Hope this answers your question.

Hi. I've just been loaned a Whirlpool awm 5125/4 washing machine (while mines gone for repair), but it has on the back of the machine, a hot inlet and a cold inlet. My machine only requires a cold water...

Hi,

Your machine can be connected for cold fill only but, you will need to connect a "Y-Piece" for it to work:
belectric_29.jpg
The tail of the "Y" attaches to the cold water valve on your pipework. You then attach both hot and cold water hoses to the branches of the "Y" and connect both hot and cold water hoses to your washing machine. The wash cycles will take longer when connected this way as the machine has to heat the water internally. It will also be less energy effecient.

Please post back if you need further assistance.

Cold water wont work

Are you saying that the machine is not letting cold water into the machine? If so, the problem has to deal with the cold water inlet valve. Disconnect the cold water supply line at the machine, check to see if there is the screens are blocked with debri.

If it is ok, it's probally the water inlet valve which is the problem. It is an easy part to purchase at any appliance supply house or online. Hope this helps you.

WILL WASHING MACHINE WORK WITH ONLY A COLD WATER SUPPLY

Yes, any machine should work with just a cold water supply. The internal heating element will bring water up to the required temperature.

Most machines sold today have only cold water fill, as that is better for removing stains - putting hot water onto a stain will set it rather than remove it.

Do u have to have hot and cold water hoses connected for machine to work.or will it work with just cold water

Most of the front loading washers and combos have two inlets for hot and cold water which are automatically controlled according to the setting used and hence both the water inlets needs to be connected for the machine to work properly or else the machine may take more time to fill water and there is also a possibility of the machine malfunctioning. However if you don't want to use hot water you may supply cold water to the hot water inlet which will at least make sure that the machine works fine.
In case you have only one faucet for supplying water to the machine you may use a Y-connector which will allow you to connect one hose to one side of the connector and two hoses to the other side of the connector which can then be connected to the two inlets to the machine.

What is the F20 error code?

F-20 error code in Whirlpool Duet Sport washing machine is indication of inadequate water supply. Check both hot and cold water supply lines to make sure machine gets enough water intake. If you do not have a hot water supply to the machine you can only run it with the cold temperature setting. This machine does not have an internal water heater and relies on the hot water supply from the house water heater.
