Most are plug & play in this century but older ones may require you to download drivers from HP
Here's HP's site for their drivers: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

Since you do not have a Optical Drive you may have to invest in a basic external version if it came with a cd.
[This will be helpful in the long run if you want to install programs that are only in cd format]

Best bet is to find the drive on the above site.

Since I do not know the specific product name/number for the mouse here are three ways that I am aware of depending on what dongle is being used to connect your mouse to your notebook.

USB - Plug & Play
1) Stick the usb dongle into a usb port.
2) Wait a few minutes for something to pop up in your taskbar icons.
3) Wait for everything to load up and connect.

USB - CD
1) Try Plug & Play directions above first
2) If you have another computer/netbook/notebook look into copying the cd onto a usb jump drive
3) Using the cd converted jumpdrive as if the jumpdrive is the cd.

Bluetooth - No dongle included
1) Get yourself/plug in a bluetooth dongle to be able to use bluetooth
2) Read your manual guide - Look for a pin to type in when connecting the two.

I truly hope this helps! Just give me a shout if you need any further help.

My acer aspire one d255 ,touch pad is not working properly. able to move the mouse pointer , but not able to click using touch pad

Sounds like the touch pad may be bad or isn't installed. If you look under hardware and it installed then most likely the touch pad may be bad.
