I love this sewing machine it's a Husqvarna Viking 400, but the needle will not move up/down when I step on the foot pedal.
I have taken it to a dealer in Missouri, but Missouri is NOT a Husqvarna state, (they like their Babylocks here) so the help was less than helpful. He thought maybe the issue was a transformer, but isn't getting back to me with a fix it cost. The machine powers up fine and the foot pedal was tested on a different machine, so that's fine.
I'm thinking I may list the machine for parts on Ebay, but I'm hoping to find somebody who really knows Husqvarna Sewing machines as a last effort. I'm in mourning for my machine.
Oh one other question. Really how long should a computerized sewing machine last?
Thanks aot.
I have a pfaff machine. the needle won't go down all the way. When I twist the wheel, it will only go part way. I've cleared all the bobbin thread and nothing works
I have a Husqvarna #1 that I also love. My needle stopped moving too. I was convinced it was the foot peddle but a repair person sais it was not. I discovered on my own that indeed it is the cord on the foot peddle. I suspect it has a loose wire because when I wiggle it where it connects to the machine it starts working again. Right now this is what I have to do because I can't find a replacement peddle. Can anybody help me find one?
Same problem with my 400. I took it in to dealer and they said main computer board on my machine would have to be replaced. Fortunately, they agreed to get it fixed for me. My machine is 2 years old. How old is yours? I wonder if this could be a manufacturer defect on the machine? Maybe this needs to be addressed with Viking Husqvarna Corporate.
