He3t washer door is locked with clothes inside. Manual release doesn't work; and disconnecting DP21 doesn't work.

door lock is the first place I would start. If it keeps doing it after the lock checks good, then it would have to be the control board.

Unplug the machine. You can open the door by removing the lower panel and reaching inside and up towards the door lock. You will feel a small, round, plastic piece that is attached to the lock assembly. Pull it and open the door. Once open, plug the washer back in a try to see if it will allow a cycle to start again, AFTER you have removed your clothes.

Unplug washer and remove lower front panel by removing 3 screws on bottom of panel. You will need "torx" or nutdriver. Reach in and up on right side of inside of washer, right were the door latch is, at the bottom of the mechanism is a manual release. Pull downward on the release and the door should open.

Put it at finish. Unplug it for 5 min and replug it in. The door has a time delay on it! If not, try putting it at spin!

There is a manual door release tab in the dispenser area. You have to take the screws out and remove the dispenser to pull the tab and release the door. This is a pretty common issue, if you haven't yet you should contact your Maytag authorized dealer and ask about a more permanent solution. Hope you can get your clothes out.

There is a manual lock release on the bottom of the door latch. Remove the bottom kick panel by removing three 9/32" screws from along the bottom, then reach inside the washer, up to the door latch. You should feel a small plastic tab on the bottom of the latch, pulling this tab should release the lock. If this does not help, you may need a new door latch. If that is the case, re-post and I will list simple steps to replace the latch, if needed. Hope that helps.

FdL Door lock error A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be locked. It will try to lock it six times before displaying the error code.

Possible Causes / Procedure

• Door lock mechanism is broken or removed from door.
• Door switch/lock unit failure.
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check door switch/lock unit.
3. Check the wire harness connections to the door switch/lock unit and Central Control Unit (CCU).

You disconnect the power ,take the top cover off, then you see the door lock assembly so take the screws from the front door ,you hold the door lock assembly and install the new one

To unlock the door:

1) Take off bottom access panel on front of washer. (3 screws hold it on the bottom)

2) Reach up between the cabinet and the front weights on the tub. You will feel a small plastic ring hanging down. It's a bit of a way up, (the bottom of the cabinet is at about my elbow, it's easiest to lay on the floor and look up, you might even be able to see it)

3) Pull that small ring and it will release the door lock.

Here are the steps to unlocking the door manually if clothes are still in the machine.
1.Unplug machine
2.remove bottom panel
3.Reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the botttom of the door latch assembly
4.Located on the bottom of the door latch assembly is a tear dropped shaped tab
5. Gently pull down on the tab about a 1/4 inch or until a click is heard.
6. You may now open the door.

This code means the door lock mechanism has failed or the central control unit has failed. Replace the door lock mech. first. This should fix the problem. (before replacing anything make sure there is no obstruction around the switch or in the switch.) After the machine has been unplugged it may fix itself. if not replace door lock mech.
