Hello everytime the power goes off & then comes back on my oven won't work until I turn the knob for the timer around as far as it will go then back again. My oven is rather an old type but maybe if you reset the timer or turn it that may help. Or check the meter box as well. dee

I have a Zamussi ZUQ875 double oven. I have just replaced the bottom oven element after it went bang. Nothing tripped out but the digital display has gone out and cannot get main oven to work because

i suspect that you did cut power to the oven when you replaced the element. therefore the oven needs to be reset as new. there are quite a few pages of instructions on setting the timer so be prepared if you are going to to proceed with this "little" project.
I was able to locate your manual online here:http://kitchen.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/zanussi/zuq_875.html?idRes=625295

I suggest unplugging it for a few minutes...then plugging it back in. Hopefully if the electrical is good you will see the oven's timer flashing. then you can proceed with the instructions from page 7.
Otherwise, you may have a blown a short and should get a licensed electrician to look at it.
Another option would be to contact the manufacturer:[email protected]

Or, find the bloke that installed it and invite him over for dinner and maybe he'll notice it's not working and will fix it for free! ;-)
Good luck mate!

Main oven causes trip switch to trip out when `I turn the dial to switch on. Top oven is fine.

Likely the element is shorted in the main oven. The Calrod elements short usually at the bends and if the breaker doesn't trip they burn a hole in them and arc. You can USUALLY see a different discoloration at teh failure point. Check both upper and lower elements as preheat probably uses both. Use a dental mirror if necessary to see under and over. Use bright light.

Gaggenau EB944-110 Pyrolytic oven stuck in some kind of mode after power outage. Oven worked perfectly but there was a mains cut. After restoring power it appears to be stuck in some kind of strange...

Yes this could be the problem. If you can't set the timer to manual mode the oven will not work. Turn the oven to on so that when power goes to it you will see the oven indicator light come on. Play with the timer buttons until the oven indicator light comes on. If it won't work you probably need a new timer.

The oven trip switch was tripped last night. After I swirched the switch back on the oven won't work. The lights and the stove are both working and the gigital screen is working.

If you were using the oven at the time it is likely that a short circuit occurred in the element causing the circuit breaker to trip. After switching it back on the oven wont work. You probably need to replace the element.
The switch may have tripped for another reason. If it did when you turned the power back on the electronic clock/timer generally reverts to the auto. function. You need to set the clock/timer back to manual so that the oven will work.

The oven tripped the main fuse switch to the house while on and when i restored power the clock on the oven came on but nothing else works no grill, oven, fan or lights ???

you have to set the clock befire anything works .if you have done that its could be that the element has failed and the fault current has damaged any of the contacts in the circuit which can be themostat ,timer contact thermal cut out contacts. failure of the timer contacts would leave nothing working

We have an aeg competence oven and we cant get it on cos the digital screen is flashing P00;00 and we cant get it of to set the time so the oven will work can you help

the problem may be with the clock chip, and not having a functioning clock means that the relay which connects mains power to the lower oven is not tripped. the clock unit costs $200 here in Yurp. since I don't use all the timers and delays that's a lot of money for a clock. so a friend and I took the clock unit out and shorted the relay so that mains power is always provided to the lower oven, and ginger bread is being baked as I type. and just to make it a traditional repair I put a piece of duck tape over the flashing P0.00, that was a bit irritating.

Neff Oven

It appears that the timer has gone faulty, possibly because of a short in the bulb holder, which probably explains why there is no display and the main oven not working. the top will still work as it is not controlled by the timer.
the solution hear would to be fit a new timer.

Electrolux oven wont heat up after power cut

hiya
sounds like the fan element could have blown, causing the electrics to trip out. best thing to do is remove all the racking
and then the rear panel that covers the fan and element. if he element has blown most of the time it will be visible.

hope this helps

De Dietrich Oven - Clock tripping back to 00:00 means I cant turn on my oven!

its a fix more than a solution but you can bypass the clock thus allowing the oven to operate again
unplug at the mains and remove the oven from the housing remove the two fastening screws from the metal lid on the top of the oven ,and remove the lid
you will see the timer back panel with 3 wires coming to it, 2 are black (switching line) and 1 is red (Live feed to timer )
If you pull the connectors from the 2 black wires from the timer board and connect the ends together using a connector block, the timer switch becomes inactive and allows the oven functions to operate again.
you will have no timer functions but its a cheap fix and who uses the timer any way
good luck Andy B
ps if anyone has a set of operating manuals for ths oven i would be glad of a copy

Electrolux Oven EOB6630, similar to above

Hi, I've had a similar problem with my electrolux EOB4633. I've replaced the "thermal cut out unit" and it's working now. Basically this unit switches on the outer casing fan ( on top in my oven ) to keep the casing from overheating. When the thermal cut out doesn't work it fails to switch on the fan and the casing overheats, the oven then cuts out completely until it has cooled down and the cycle starts again.

The bit to be replaced ( part no 8996619267611 ) is located on top of the oven, under the outer cover, just behind the timer & selector switch. It's a small ( 1inch long ) silicon sleeve with 4 wires coming out of it, just unplug the wires and replace it with the new one ( unplug/disconnect the power to the oven, or switch of the power at the mains switch first ), then remove the oven outer top cover ( all you need is a screwdriver ). You'll see the offending unit, probably tie wrapped to one of the wire bundles, quite easily - mine was blackened and charred.

Good luck!
