Hi i installed windows vista to my sony vaio laptop and now my motion eye is not working Hi, I have a Vaio BX61MN, my motion eye camera used to work fine before but recentlyi found that its not working as its been used by another program or hardware. When I tried to use the webcam it just wont happen, then when I tried using the Camera Application it says that the camera has been used by another program. Can you help me?

I have found a solution to this problem!!
OK. So-- Like all of you, I had the same exact problem. I upgraded my Sony VAIO VGNFE780G to Windows Vista Home Premium and discovered that my Motion Eye Cam had stopped working.
Here's what I did and hope it works for you all:
1. Visit the Sony Support website. This is the link to my computer's support site for Windows XP. CLICK HERE
2. Click on CAMERA - 2 file(s)
3. From the submenu select Original - Sony® Visual Communication Camera VGP-VCC1 Driver
4. Download and execute the file.
It should install and ask for a reset from there... This XP driver works for my combination of OS and computer, if this works for you--please let others know.
Be sure to test the camera after the reboot. You can test HERE.

The first thing you should check is that you don't have any applications open that could be using the camera (ex. MSN, AIM etc are the most likely culprits). Then open My Computer, there should be a section that says "Imaging devices" your Eye should be listed under there. Open that application, if you see a picture then your webcam is good to go. If you get the same error then try reinstalling the driver for the webcam. THis can be done through device manager.

i have been reformat may Vaio and my motion eye camera doest work coz' i dont have a driver for motioneye my SONY VAIO Model VGN-CR32G..
Like all of you, I had the same exact problem, notonly with de camera but with the card reader too.
The solution after reinstaling the drives was to actualize the driver software from the device manager with manual option from: C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Temp
This solution worked in both cases, don't ask me why!

Did u install any other programs anfter your vista instalation? try to uninstall them one by one, My guess is that one of the programs "kidnaped" you camera. By uninstaling one by one you can easy find out witch one it is. After uninstalling one program test your camera. If it works again you that program is the problem.
