How did you uninstall itunes? If you run into an error, or your computer while your itunes was installing, it could leave things behind messing up all the other installations as well. What you need to do is first of all make sure you don't have any instances of itunes open, or trying to be opened. Then you can go ahead and run the uninstaller on itunes.

Then you will need to go into explorer (windows+e, or right click on your My Computer icon and press "explore" from the menu), navigate to C:\Program Files\ and delete the itunes folder completely. If you get an error saying something to the effect of "This file/folder is being used by another program, please stop that program and try again." go ahead and restart your computer, and try to delete the folder again when your computer comes back up.

Then try and reinstall it, making sure that you are downloading the correct version of itunes for your operating system.

I was so excited after reading your advice and tried it. My computer is still doing the same thing and won't let me install itunes. :( Mine has Windows 7 and I downloaded the correct form. This makes me sad.

Can't open my iTunes when open get error messages ""Apple application support was not found." Apple application support is required to run iTunes.

I think you have not follow the basic rule. first check your system configuration with iTunes application requirement.
If possible update your system. Now you can download a Apple Application Support file and if not helpful then read this tutorial if you have some technical knowledge https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6562#qtmoviewin
and follow Mac Technical Support for more guidance.

Error 7 windows error 126

Uninstall Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour, iTunes, and Quicktime. Basically any Apple software.
Download and re-install itunes, it will install all of the above.
Open iTunes. It now runs correctly.
I was having the same problem until I did this, and it fixed the problem right away.
Sit back and enjoy music.

I tried to download the latest version of itunes but for someone it wouldnt download and now my old itunes doesnt work either. When I click on itunes to open it up, a message box pops up reading...

It sounds like the download removed the existing software.

I would open control panel, then click add or remove programs, then click on itunes. see if there is a repair option with the installer. sometimes there is, but if not, then uninstall it, but keep your saved files.

Then re-install it, and when it sets up, it should still accept your old saved files. That way you don't have to recopy you music, games or videos

The 'error 2" is saying that when you clicked on the icon, there was no file remaining in your system that matched what the program was that was assigned to that icon.

You can find out what the program was, and its location by right clicking on the icon, and then click on properties.

I am trying to download itunes onto my laptop but it wont let me download more than 76%

you sure your problem is the 'download' part?? or is it the installation part??

if it's the download part I would suggest for you to attempt to download the installation file in another computer, put it on the thumb drive and bring it over to the laptop where you want to install the itunes.

if you have problems installing itunes you probably may want to uninstall
the following programs and in the following order
  1. iTunes
  2. QuickTime
  3. Apple Software Update
  4. Apple Mobile Device Support
  5. Bonjour
  6. Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
if you can't uninstall them with 'add and remove programs', I would suggest to use this windows uninstaller and clean up utility

only once you have uninstalled all the programs above, run the itunes installer and all the programs updated will be installed one at a time.

hope this helps
