Sorry, the machine is about 20 yrs old but has hardly been used . We removed the face plate ,blew it out with compressor and oiled where indicated . The feed was working before this. We tipped machine over to blow bottom, maybe something has fallen off? . So sorry about the 1 didn't realise it would cause you stress, got any other ideas .Regards.

    Still does not move

I have an awful feeling that it is the feed dog timing that is off. I could not see your machine manual online but I think if you call Singer at 1-800-4singer, they can advise you what to do without voiding any warranty. Good luck

you also never stated if it was a drop feed or not. Kind of mean spirited to give a 1 when you didn't even tell the whole story of what you tried and didn't try. Remember, we are not psychic, only trying to help. And I do it for free not payment.

I have a singer touch tronic 2001 and material will not advance

The fabric does not advance... you need to observe the motion of the feed dogs (sawtooth strips of metal).

Turn machine on. Select a straight stitch with length 4 or 5. Then with foot lever up, manually rotate hand wheel and watch for feed dogs to raise up (above the needle plate) and move toward the rear and then lower (below needle plate), move toward the front of machine and then repeate the cycle for every stroke of the needle bar.

You may want to remove the needle plate for a better view of the feed dog movement and the rotary hook.

I suspect you will find either the feed dogs are not raising high enough or not moving at all.

Comment for further assistance.

Singer sewing machine model 1425 feeder foot wont advance fabric

Not knowing this exact model or your history with this specific machine, I'll just toss out the following info.

If feeder dogs are not stepping, none of the following applies to your problem. Otherwise;

I believe the 1425 does not have dog up/down selection, therefor it uses stitch length zero (or about) to keep the feeder dogs below the needle plate when embroidery/darning.

Assuming feed dogs are stepping (rotary reciprocation), adjust stitch length toward a longer setting. Eventually this should raise the height of the feed dog step to a point above the needle plate thereby feeding the fabric.

So if choosing a longer stitch length feeds fabric, either the feed dog height needs adjusted, or something else has caused feed dogs to be lower than normal (additional repairs).

Where is the feed dog switch on the singer athena 2009 sewing machine

I'm not able to find a reference to a feed dog switch for your machine.

Singer Athena 2000 Instructions Manual Page 9

Could possibly be accomplished using a special plate? The instructions do refer to a darning foot, so the machine should be able to deactivate the feed dogs.

Feeddog singer stylist 776 how would the feeddog gt lowered

Consult the owner's manual. There should be instructions for how to darn with your machine. It would require either the feature that lowers/raises the feed dogs or a cover plate that attaches over the feed dogs.

If your machine came with the cover plate accessory, and the feed dogs are not rising to feed the fabric, then I suspect the machine has not been cleaned & oiled in quite some time and perhaps the feed dogs have seized. When you run the machine (remove the needle and presser foot), watch if the feed dogs actually drop below the needle plate, move toward the front of the machine, then rise above the needle plate and move toward the back of the machine. This is a repetitive motion that actually pulls the fabric through the machine. If this is not happening with your machine, it needs service.

Feeder dogs not working

Are the feed dogs disengaged? Look for a slide switch or button on the back or on the front near the sewing area.

I cant get the material feeder to come up so that the material can slide

Make sure feed dogs (teeth in needle plate beneath needle) are showing. Flip switch to UP position to "feed" fabric. Sometimes control fir this located on back of machine lower left side and " hidden" by your extension table, so remove that table and you'll find the switch! Jimmy

My feeder dog is not coming up! it remains below the needle plate. Any suggestions? I am not very familiar with this machine. I took the extension table off and saw a switch on the back that looked...

The feed dog switch is on the back side of the machine, on the base. It is on the base, near the area of the needle arm. Try switching the setting of the switch
