Not a 1997, but a '95 Isuzu Rodeo. The alarm system wants to go off because I do not know how to reset it, and this causes the car not to start. IS there a reset button or procedure? I have tried finding a fuse, but there appears to be nothing labeled security system or alarm.

Your alarm system should have a sensitivity setting screw, if you can locate it, it's probably buried behind your dash. If you adjust the sensitivity it might help with the problem.
It probably has an alarm system that needs reset. Try looking under dash may be a reset button for after market alarm system. Also try locking and unlocking doors with door key. hope this helps.
I'm assuming its an original alarm or system that came from factory or dealer. When the light blinks is because the alarm is activated. Look underneath the radio the alarm brain might be there. There will be a label on it saying alarm or security system etc. Disconnect the harness to it and try operating your vehicle.
try turning the key to the on position (not start) then to off 5 times quickly. this may reset it. on the 5th time the power locks will lock then unlock quickly if done right.
[email protected] We replaced the battery terminal now the alarm light does not blink like its supposed to when you lock the car . Is there a way to reset the alarm.
