Windows vista i bought a new laptop with windows vista , is there a download available for my dvd camcorder?

  • Anonymous Apr 20, 2009

Eagle338's solution does not work. Those are the same Win9x, 2000 and XP drivers. I have just tried and they will not install on Vista. So far looks like Hitachi does not offer drivers. Which really makes me not want to buy a Hitachi again!

Windows crashed total so installed new windows vista pro now my dvd say its only cd and will not write dvd or and tells me no disk in drive when i insert blank dvd

It sounds like you need to upgrade the DVD-ROM drivers on your operating system. You'll need to go to the manufacturer's website to get the drivers for Vista.
1) Determine the manufacturer of your DVD-ROM drive. If you bought the drive separately from the computer, you need to go to the website of the company that made the drive (such as Samsung, Toshiba, etc.). If you bought it as part of a desktop or laptop, go to the website of the company that built the computer (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.).
2) Look for a link titled "Support" or possibly "Downloads" in the menu at the top of the webpage.
3) How you find the specific driver for your device will vary depending on which website you are on. Normally you have to enter in the model number of either your computer or DVD-ROM drive and it will show you what drivers are available.
4) Download the driver for Windows Vista (make sure you get the 32-bit version or 64-bit version, depending on your version of Vista)
5) Install the driver, typically by double-clicking the downloaded file and then following any on-screen directions. You'll then most likely have to reboot as well.
Everything should work after this. If you need specific help in finding the driver file to download, you'll need to provide me with the brand and model of your computer or DVD-ROM drive.
Hope that gets you up and running!

Many video clips recorded by GZ-MG130 were stored in my old laptop (windows XP) and played well in with windows media player. 1)I have now transferred them to my new laptop ...

Hi Rajeeva.

To start try downloading updated codecs for Windows Media player, and install them onto the new laptop.

Use this link to download updated codes:Free-Codecs.com :: Download latest audio codecs

If that is not enough also update Windows Media Player on the new laptop. Link is below.

Windows Media Player 11.

Updating codecs should fix the problem already.

Sony model camcorder DCR-HC40E

well if you were to burn them via windows vista, I'm sure you could do that directly from your computer, if not I'd just talk to a real person (custumer service line, a shop etc.)

Upgraded the sony software to vista version but dvd camcorder is not rcognied when i connect to pc via usb

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DCRDVD403

Click on the link above and select the new vista OS you are using to download the drivers for the vista.

The camcorder did not work because the drivers you were having must have been for windows XP.

So download the drivers for vista and this will help.

Can Not Transfer Video to Computer

The Samsung web site has a 32-bit Vista driver but no 64-bit driver. Come on, it's 2009 for God's sake!

FEAR NOT:

For Vista (or any OS), first FINALIZE* the mini-disk using your Samsung camera. FINALIZING creates a DVD out of your mini-disk. You can put that in your computer and it will play just like any DVD. If you want to edit your movies, your mini-DVD has .vob (movie) files on it.

Movie Maker won't import a .vob file so you'll have to convert it to .avi using a third-party conversion tool. I use Need4Video for around $50. I think there's free ones out there too.

And that's how I spent my summer vacation.

Vista

Take the DVD out of the plastic case used to hold it in the Cam. Put the DVD in a DVD drive (mine is on the laptop). Find the file .VRO and download it to a folder. Change the file .VRO to .MPG. Should open with Windows Media Player. This is quick and dirty and I'm sure there's a better solution out there, but it's working for me. Regards
