Kenmore freezer is not cooling

if this control is in the freezer, in the middle, rear wall..its a damper control and its ok

I need your model number I cannot pull up views without the model number. The number most times looks like 321.654987 Thank You, Sea Breeze

try a new termostate if not working u need to refill the compressor with new gas

try cleaning vents/drain holes in whole unit this should allow more air to flow.also when did you last manually defrost whole unit.....

You need to check the temp in the freezer to make sure it's down to around 10 degrees. The alarm will go off much above that.

looks like you have a leak in the cooling system, call sears out right away to save yourself from an even more expensive repair.

Sadly these old freezers use way too much electricity. You will be better off junking this one and purchasing a good used or brand new one.

The fan behind the molding is hitting some ice build up and causing the sound. Sounds like the timer for the defrost isn't working. Try to turn off the unit for few hours or take off the molding in the freezer compartment and remove the ice build up with hair dryer.

The freezer should stay within 5 degrees of 0 while in operation. While in defrost the freezer may reach as high as 20 to 25 degrees. If any higher temperatures are reached your food will spoil as they are defrosted and refroze everyday. If you find that the temperature is allowing your food to defrost you may want to replace your defrost thermostat. This device is located on top of the evaperator coil inside the back of the freezer. It is made to turn the heater off when a temperature of 55 degrees is reached. One other possible problem could be your defrost timer is taking to long to restart the cooling cycle after defrosting. Make sure everything is working, I.E. compressor, fans. Now I need to know if the freezer shuts off at 14 degrees, or does it continue to run without making temp. If it shuts off, then the first place to look is the thermostat. It may be out of calibration. If it continues to run, then the solution may be as simple as cleaning the condenser coil. or the defrost has malfunctioned somehow. Defrost probleams will cause excess ice on the inside coil. You may need to remove the panels to see how much ice is on it. It sounds like the compressor is good, as it is pretty cold. Just not cold enough. A deep freeze should be at least 0.
