Sony VPL-DS100 My projector when powered on has indicator go from red to green and lamp is also on with display coming ok. However after about 10 to 15second lamp goes off and power indicator keeps blinking green with no display. Also on the side lamp cover alarm orange indicator keeps blinking. When powered off and on again same story again. Let me know if there is any inhouse solution for me to make it work. thanks.

I have solved this problem. Seems the rotating stand on the front bottom needed to be pushed and turned so that it inserts well inside. If it not well pushed the projector keeps shutting down itself every 10-15seconds. Took me about an hour to open the projector and doing all kinds of experiments to finally try that. :)

was the cooling fan running ?? as the way you describe it that sure seems a overheating issue too me .

Lamp is not working

How many times is the red light flashing at one time? The flashing is an error code, the number of flashes indicated the problem. It could be the bulb, the fan, a power issue, or even your altitude.

Hi,
You can reset lamp timer of VPL-EX3 by following procedure.
Connect power cord in wall socket, standby indicator will lit red.
Press following keys on projector remote.. RESET, Left arrow, Right arrow, ENTER
Lamp timer will reset.

your projectors lamp cover may be open. or there is some thing happened (may be contact problem) with the lamp cover open sensing switch. just open the door and close it. and then try again.

How do I reset the lamp timer on the Sony VPL-DS100?

Yes, press RESET, <, >, ENTER keys on remote simultaneously to reset lamp timer. Display of lamp will also change to zero.
Make sure projector is just plugged in and should not power On (in standby mode) to reset lamp timer.

The lamp ballast board is giving you fits. The lamp socket wires attach to the board so it should be easy to locate.

Sony VPL-DS100 will not turn on

I had same problem. The cause was a blown fuse (T5.0 Amp 250V). You have to open the case and then get below the print that is under the alloy cover. it is quite simple to fix. A fuse costs 60 cents.

Lamp Cover will not close fully

Hi there

Your lamp is not properly inserted.

The lamp door should close easily if your lamp is in correct.

If teh lamp door is not closed properly then the mashine will keep on shutting down.
