The MP3 player uses a USB cable to download music files from the computer. Windows 98 does not support USB port even if the computer has a USB port. If the computer has a USB port then you need to install a Windows 98 USB driver so it can connect with the MP3 player to download mp3 music files.

How do i put music on my ilo mp3 player?, when i upload it onto my computer. it wants me to either download a windows 98 driver or to put it in a different usb port.

use a xp machine and see if it work.if so then 98 won't work with your mp3.98 may have usb ports but you need special driver for it.some don't exist since the mp3 was built for xp or up-to-date operating systems.ou can charge it but not put songs.windows 2000 will work.there is very little usb devices that work with 98

Downloading music

most likely it requires windows media player version 10 or higher which unfortunately is not compatible with windows 98 so that way will not work. You may be able to bypass windows media player by going to the manufactuers website and downloading a specialized driver for windows 98 and then drag and dropping your music onto the pkayer if this doesn't work I am sorry

How to download music to mp3 player

With all the players I had it worked the same:

Open a file manager window. Plug in the player to the USB port of your computer. Double click on the new drive letter that appeared. This is the window of your MP3 player. Drag and drop the songs to this window.

Music downloads

Right-click a file and check properties to see if it is hidden. Unclick the "hidden" box and click OK. See if it copies and plays. (You can do this right on the Trio if you can see its files on your computer. It should show up and play right away.) If this works, highlight all the files and do the same to unhide the whole group.

Trio Mp# player... won't let me put any tunes on it...

IF you're using Windows 98 or 98SE, you have to use the driver software that came (should have come) on a disc with the player. ME, XP or Vista should automatically detect it as a flash drive when you connect it via USB.

However, I have had no luck in getting it to play .wma's like it's supposed to be able to. .mp3's, however, work just fine.

Only 90 songs

90 songs = normal for a 1GB player. The # of songs that the companies list on their leaflets are never right - they are idealized projections based on ultra-compressed format and song length of only 2 minutes. Very unrealistic.
