1) You must test the a) fuse b) c.breaker inside c) diode, d) rectifier e) transformer f) filter. g) IC. regulator voltage and test it. If the problem persist you must go to the horizontal problem by lack of RASTER, now you test the transistor horizontal power, flyback. If you have some experience with the electronic you can try. If do not, better go to the repair shop Tv. Since you can have a electric shock by H.Voltage discharge. God bless you
2 Red Blinking lights on this model indicate an Over Current Protection status. This could be caused by a faulty power supply inside the TV or possibly by the Flyback Transformer.
This is repairable, but needs to be serviced by a TV service technician.
7 blinks is an error code for "Horizontal deflection malfunction". This circuitry is the one generating high voltage for the picture tube and other voltages through the flyback transformer. Sad to say that this is not a DIY because safety precaution is a must working on this section to avoid further damaged and electric shock.
The flyback transformer, horizontal output transistor, fusible resistor, jungle IC must be check by a qualified TV technician to isolate where the fault came from.
I would advice you to ask for an actual estimate from your local service center for the service fee plus parts let say flyback transformer to determine how much money you are going to spend sending the unit in. Hope I helped you. Have a nice day! Thanks for using Fixya.
Dear all I use a Sony crt tv Model KV-LX34M80 in long time but some days ago I face a problem in my television, Emgg, say's damage my television flyback. So I code not find flyback in my location. Please help me.
It sounds like that in the drop you may have cracked the main PCB. The PCB's usually crack around the heaviest part of the PCB. Probably around the flyback transformer.
Broken LCD panel does not affect circuit board behind that panel. Make sure that other TV should be same model (KDL-40W4100) to swap boards / LCD panel because each model has its special designed boards and cannot be used in different model (if chassis is same, few boards can be used)
you have a busted capacitors around the flyback... that's why there have a low filtering in the supply... try to overhaul the capacitors usually with the high value of capacitance and voltage...
Usually, in those Sony sets, a crack developes on a small transformer in the horizontal drive circuit, which causes the horizontal output transistor to short. This immediately shorts out the switching transistors in the power supply and blows the Sony 0.1 ohm resistor fuse. A shorted flyback (high voltage) transformer will also have the same result. The power supply does NOT need to be replaced. The parts should be replaced, the flyback checked and the board resoldered by a qualified tech familiar with Sony sets.
