Have a 42' emerson tv LTDN42V68USset up fine & pic is great BUT I have 1 small issue. the tv seems to be stuck in zoom mode. I have tried everything under the sun to get the tv out of Wide screen mode but it wont change or give me the option to change to anything else. The pictures on the tv seem to be to big for the screen and it is cutting the tops of peoples heads off & also the bottom of the screen. On some channels you see the station logo but now its is cut in 1/2. How can I get it out of Wide Screen Mode to make it a tad bit smaller ?

Look for vertical output LA7804 7-PIN IC near right rear of set on heatsink. Look for bad solder joints in that area also.

your tv has become magnetized the easiest way is to find a deguasing coil to demagnetize it however only services shop usally have those! you can try unplugging and turning set back on several times to see if that will clear it up as sets have a built in deguasing setup good luck from television tech!
