Heating element not working

When cleaning the oven you got to be very careful because there's a little piece of copper in the back it looks like a little copper wire with a bare copper wire on it that is usually a thermostat it's on the back wall of the appliance inside the oven now you have a heating element on top and bottom you said that one of them stopped workin now you have a heating element on top and bottom you said that one of them stop working when you were cleaning the oven could you may have hit it moved it enough to disconnect it at the connection that comes out of the back of the oven to the inside of the oven to the element check and see if the two wires coming out of the back of the inside to the element are disconnected usually it's a Phillips head screwdriver now if you broke one of those wires needs to be reattached before you do any kind of work on that element or anything you should always unplug your oven from the wall the electrical outlet unplug it to be safe now if your thermostat which is that wir thermostat which is that wire copper wire looking thing coming out and see me on the back wall of the inside of the oven it's on a clip if you moved or bent that in any way that could also cause you thermostat which is that wire copper wire looking thing coming out and ceiling on the back wall of the inside of the oven it's on a clip if you moved or bent that in any way that could also cause your temperature to be off you really don't want to have to touch that if you don't have to I hope that helped you be safe and good luck

How do you remove the bake element from the oven to replace? Thanks

Hello- Most elements are fairly easy to replace. Unplug power.  Remove back panel and locate wires that plug into element. Unplug and remove screws holding element in place. Replace element, hook up wires, and put back panel on. Plug in and you should be good to go.  Please acknowledge post if info helps- have more if needed-- Thanks- Ed

The oven stopped working and heating up. The top range part works.

I suspect a heating element in the oven has burned out. Some ovens have 2 heating elements, one on the bottom for baking and one on the top for broiling. If this is the case, you can try setting the oven on broil and see if the top element gets hot. Usually the bottom element fails first because food gets dripped on it. In most cases you can unplug the old heating element by just pulling on it and plug the new one just as easily. You can check the resistance of the heating element with an ohm meter. If it's burned out the resistance will be very high, probably greater than a mega ohm. In some cases you will need to take the back off the oven to replace the heating element. Just make sure the oven is unplugged and cool when you start working on it.

Kenmore oven not working

Hi, You need to unplug the stove, take the back panel off and check continuity on the bake element or after the back panel is removed, plug the oven back in, and turn oven to bake. You should get 240Volts to the two terminals on the bake element. If you have 240 Volts, the element is bad and needs replaced. I can ship you the new element.

Hope this helps

Fridgiaire Gallery series Model GLEB30T8CBA lower elements dont work

I replaced the relay board for the top oven (the one with the transformer) and it works properly now. My issue was only for the top oven so you probably have to replace both relay boards since both ovens have only the top element working.

318022002 is the part number for the relay board with transformer
318022001 is the part number for the relay board without transformer

Yes the one without the transformer is more expensive for some reason.

The boards are on the top of the oven, I was able to pull out the oven about 75% of the way out of the cabinet and easily get to the boards. Just unplugged the connections and plugged them into the new board.

To get the oven out there are two small screws that go into brackets inside the top oven door. Highly recommend taking the doors off the oven to pull it out, much easier to work with.

NOTE: On my old board I noticed one solder joint that was burned out and I since I already had the new board I just replaced but you might want to check that first and see if just a solder fix gets you working again before you spend $$ on a new board.

Bake element in smaller oven replacement

I always unplug oven or turn off power make sure though it will bite ya and hard after turning power off if you do it at the breaker turn stove top on make sure it don come on remember its 220volts and it hurts open oven door remove all racks. Then remove the screws mounting element to oven pull gently towards you (you may have to lift the front up a little) pull old element out until you see the spade connector (plug ins with the wires attached) remove these should be two of them be careful not to let wires go back into the cabinet put new element in hook wires back up to wires push back into the hole and put screws in turn power back on and test. this can also be done by taking the back off also and doing the same thing in the oven.hope this helps ya
