I got the IHome IH-W313NR webcam for Christmas today. When I try to record a video the screen shows that it's recording, but when I try to play back the video it fast forwards through showing that the entire thing is only three seconds long, and it plays the first part of the audio at the end of the video and then cuts off. How do I get my webcam to record like it should. Please help.

First of all, do you have a CD with it, instructions?
If you have a cd, load it into your CD rom and run it, follow instructions on screen, at one point it will tell you to plug in cam, do so, and finish installation.
If you dont have a cd, then heres a link qhere you can download the driver, once you download it, run it and follow instructions as well...

once you open the page, scroll down till you see the blue text line that starts with DRIVER, click on that and it shall download.

I have about 2 to 3 tapes that wont play on any of my cameras. I have lots of footage on each of them.

buy a cleaning cassette and play three times and then try to record .

Try testing it, last time I checked skype has a test section, its hard to find, but its there. You just talk into the mic and skype records it. Then play back.

It is possible the mic isn't working.

Before you consider taking it back, make sure you follow the instructions to the letter.
