Carriage jammed When I was printing each time the printer carriage did a "return" it made an awful screeching noise.  I was running over to cancel the print job when it stopped on it's own.  Now I have an error message that says "open the door, clear carriage jam and press enter"  I lifted up the top and the carriage is all the way to the right so i cannot see it.  i opened the back and can't get it it there either. Help:)

Pump motor stalls in my HP printer

When an inkjet printer is making "awful noises" it means that there is either a paper jam or the carriage can't move properly. Remove all paper and check for a paper jam - if this is not the problem, turn off the printer and see if you can move the print cartridge carrier by hand. If it is hard to move, clean the shiny carriage rod with a cloth and put just a drop of light oil on it. Move the carriage back and forth and clean it again - repeat until it moves easily and add a final drop of oil to the rod.

My brother printer mfc-j415w keeps giving me an error message which says paper jammed, I removed all paper and bits of debris found in between the rollers but it still keeps giving me the same error m

there will be paper to the side of the printer which is stopping the carriage from travelling fully which will also be why it makes a noise.
If its to the right of the carriage, start printer and when carriage starts to move pull the power lead, you'll be able to move the carriage out of the way and look in with a torch to find the paper or foreign object. Just remove it and restart the printer and everything will be normal.

Please indicate if it fixed your problem here.

Carriage jam error

A paper jam

If you've had a paper jam, normally after you clear it, a small amount of paper sometimes gets left behind and gets shunted onto the sidewall of the printer by the carriage, which stops the carriage reaching its full travel and throwing up an error, rendering the printer unable to print or carry out any other function. Simply remove the paper and switch printer off and on and it will reset.
If you have an error of any other kind, many remedies and fixes for these can be found on my website http://www.the-inkstore.co.uk/frame/pages/epson.htm

When turn on typewriter there is an continuous beeping/screeching noise and will not operate.

Remove print wheel to ensure its not jamming, switch machine back on and see if carriage returns to the LHS home position. If it does not and the carriage is just shaking and the noise is still there, you may have a defective carriage motor or defective power supply.

Stalled printer cartridges

Sounds like an issue with the print carriage. When it's out of alignment and tries to print, it can make awful noises. HP.com has a web page that describes a number of troubleshooting steps when you have print carriage issues:

Carriage Jam Errors

There's also a related web page having to do with the noise coming from the printer:

Noisy Print Carriage

Hope this helps. Good luck.
