you have to disassemble the case so that you can access the top of the motherboard. there is a battery attached to the motherboard. Make sure that the laptop main battery is removed and it is not connected to the power outlet, there must be no electricity running through it. Then disconnect the motherboard battery and leave it of for about 10 minutes. then you can reassemble the machine and you should have access to all areas.
I think that you can get the confirmation of this on the Dell forums, they are very informative.
Hello,<br /><br />Download the service manual for Dell inspirion 1100, 5100, and 5150 by simply click the below link.<br /><br />Note that the manual is in PDF format, so you need to have Adobe Acrobat reader already installed on your computer.<br /><br />Also, your computer configuration speed will determine how fast the service manual will load. Wait for the service manual to load completely before scrolling in order to avoid it hanging.<br /><br />It is advice able that you print it so that you can have a hard copy. Hi, You have to replace the screen and to do that the best way is to either download the service manual from your manufacturer`s website or follow some online tutorials on YouTube guiding you the step by step disassembling and reassembling but if it still doesn't make any sense for you then you go to some hardware shop and they can replace it for you.
see p.47 of your manual ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/inspiron-15-intel-n5010_setup%20guide_en-us.pdf
This says 3 beeps means "Possible system board failure - Chipset error" which sounds serious. Are you certain it is three beeps ? The manual recommends contacting Dell (see contacting Dell on p76). Inspect each chip on the m/b for damage (you may not find anything). You might try disassembly and reassembly of the computer (see Service Manual on Dell website) if you are competent to do this, and cleaning it out with a can of compressed air.

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, thesupport download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operatingsystem. Click on this link to download the drivers: -
