Please check if the sound driver is installed, if sould is available but the sound icon is missing please follow the following steps.

Click on start
Click on settings / control pannel
Click on Sound and audio devices
In the volume tab you will find a check box Place volume control icon in the taskbar

check this box if you need to have a volume icon in the system tray / notification area.

If the above option is not working or sound driver is not installed, please download the updated driver from the website or the CD that came along with the sound card and then try the same steps above.

Hi Windows XP is outdated. Both internet explorer and Firefox browsers have stopped support for Windows XP. Latest Firefox version is 57.0.2 and it is not possible to install on Windows XP. Internet explorer also cannot be updated on Windows XP. Please check your motherboard's manufacturer's site to see what latest operating system, it will support. I guess old systems wont support Windows 10 but support only till Windows 7 or Windows 8. Please consider updating to latest operating system if you want to use for browsing.

No sound on dell E310 with windows xp

First, check the sound icon on the bottom right corner of the screen and find the sound icon. Double-click it. Is the computer muted? If not...

Did you format your Dell computer recently? If so, do you have the manufacturer's discs that came with the computer? If you did format it, all information on your computer (including the drivers that enable sound) will be erased and you'd have to find/install the driver's again.

Sound is off. kids playing on it. have hit every sound button on keyboard. is there a mute button? Thanks

Go to: Control Panel > Sound and then a box will pop up. Click on Playback tab and make sure your correct speaker output is selected as the default. Then click Apply button. Then OK. Also, to check your mute/volume button click the speaker icon on your task bar (its next to the little clock in the bottom right of your screen. You might have to click a little arrow that looks like this < to see it. Then just turn up the volme. Also, make sure the speaker cables are plugged in and the power cord as well if they are external speakers.

Problem in my speaker........

goto CONTROL PANEL>Sounds & audio Devices(icon). goto VOLUME, far left menu option.Just under VOLME you should see a ICON of a speaker & the name of the audio device\driver. [If you don't u don't have a audio device INSTALLED] Make sure that the MUTE is not checked.,place a check ['place volume icon in the taskbar] ( that is the RIGHT bottom)On the left bottom of the same"volme" click "speaker volume" and raise the volume. GOTO >SOUNDS(sbmenu)>program events(windows>Asterick,Close Prgram, critical Battery Alarm,Critical Stop,Default Beep, etc, etc)
UNDER:: sounds, look & see if a sound is "taged", just to the right there is a "right" arrow that should be BLACK. When you touch the "arrow" the sound that u "taged" should sound.(1st) goto AUDIO >Default device: you HAVE to see some type of "audio device" e.i. Sound Blaster, Conexant AMC ,ABC Bananers, some type of audio device! If not, left click mouse DARK "arrow" down to see if you have some type of adio device\driver.If so chooze it.(2nd) goto VOLUME AND raise the volume.(3rd) Go back to "sounds" & while you click the dark arrow facing right, connect the speaker jack to the back of the "FEMALE" port.Sometimes they are not marked and you could connect to the wrong port.example: mike in instead of speaker out. understand!

Speakers

If this happens when its not connected to the puter or any input or at any volume then its the capacitors in the power supply are drying up. You need to replace them. Good luck
