Phone was working fine and then all of a sudden the sim card slot stopped reading my sim card.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3: SIM card not working:

Hello. sometimes the SIM card slot gets loose over time.

If you notice that it is easy for the SIM card to slip in and out of the card holder.. or if not you can try this fix anyway to see if it helps:

You'll need some scissors and some clear tape like scotch tape..

cut off a very small piece of tape just enough to cover the top part of your SIM card..

it doesn't have to cover the whole top part..

It can not cover any connectors..

after affixing, slide the SIM card back into it's holder to see if that works..

If that doesn't help, you may have to visit your local Service Provider's store to get a new SIM card

Insert SIM Card Problem Fix

The "Insert SIM Card" problem can be irritating when it keeps on popping up even when a SIM card is actually been inserted into the phone's SIM card holder. It can sometimes be remedied by cleaning both the SIM card and the holder terminals with a cotton swab immersed in alcohol; most preferably 70% alcohol solution. Sometimes the holder is not tightly holding the SIM card causing the problem. This can be solved by padding up the back of the SIM card with a small sheet paper or any appropriate material enough for the holder to hold the SIM card tightly. Another way to fix the problem is by bending in the mid-section of the SIM holder cover.

Nokia 1110, 1110i, 1200, 1028, 1209 and all other member of the family of Nokia phones with USB ports similar to the ones mentioned earlier have the tendencies to experience the "Insert SIM Card" problem not due to a dirty terminals nor a loose holder but due to dirty, soiled, or oxidized USB port terminals. The fix is just as simple as cleaning the USB port terminals but make sure to remove the phone battery prior to the cleaning. Use a paper clip, a safety pin, or a needle with bended tip to scrape off the dirt between the port terminals and dip it in alcohol to wash it out.

The cleaning can be done without the necessity of disassembling the phone but if proper tools are available, disassemble the phone to clean the inside of the system connector, the one where the USB port, the charging socket, and the headset socket are located.

People may wonder how a dirty USB port can lead to the "Insert SIM Card" issue and guess what; it is not even included in the Nokia Service Manual. The fix was discovered accidentally and proven many times that a dirty USB port is indeed the source of the problem.

I need to replace the sim card

In almost every cellphone the Sim Card is located under the battery. Open the back of your phone where the battery is located and remove the battery. You should see the Sim Card that you want to replace. Most Sim Cards slide under a small holder. Gently slide the Sim Card out. Make sure that you are aware of how the old Sim Card is positioned so that you can simply slide the new Sim Card in exactly the same way as the old Sim Card came out. Replace the battery and close the back cover and you are finished.

My sim card not installed

It may be a case of wrong cutting of the micro sim. Since the iPad uses a microsim, you haveto make sure that the sim card is cut perfectly. Do not use a pair of scissors, you have to cut it specifically using a micro sim cutter. Or you can check if the placement of the sim card is correct. Sometimes, the card seems to get loose thus making it unreadable by the iPad.
