Hi my sons have had a wii since it came out.3 times ive had to send it back for the error unable to read disks for both wii games and gamecube games.do u guys have any solutions for it
If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try
another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem
is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read
error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide,
that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It
also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a
kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide
This has happened to me before. Ive managed to get it working again by taking the disc out and then put it slightly in but not so much so that the wii takes in the disc. Youll hear the noise of it trying to take in and then eject the disc. Do it a couple of times and then try putting the disc in properly. Seemed to be there was something in the console stopping it from reading the discs and this may have dislodged it. Not a technical solution i know but it did work for me and my console is now fine.
Fiend your solution direct from nintendo. Here is your solution....

Hi
there
From
what you have said it sounds like you have the DISK DRIVE READ ERROR
The
main cause is Hardware failure due to overheating or just simple wear
& tear.
You
will need to perform simple maintenance to your console
You
can send your Wii to Nintendo to fix this. If your in warranty its
free. If not the repair cost would be $150 and a wait time of 4-6
weeks
The
other solution is what I did and the way more and more gamers are
turning nowadays is a Good
Wii Repair Guide that shows you how to fix the problem yourself.
I have never had a problem with this one so far for over a year, well
worth it. Its my most recommended guide online.
Well
this is all the help and advice I have on this so good luck.
You
can get back to gaming
Please
come back and rate my post if you find it useful
Many
thanks
