Hi, I need some help here. My Aunt uses a Pronto M17 sure step with a Invacare controller that has Mk6ispj and W/pss written on it. The unit works fine but wont turn off and has trouble turning on as well. I opened it up and tried to clean the buttons but it made no difference. Any one know what it could be? Any simple fix? Thanks

The Mk6 spj w/pss has an overlay with buttons over the sensors. The functionality is very much like a microwave keypad. These buttons go bad over time and you can replace the overlay for under $20. When you press the buttons they contact some inductive sensors on a circuit board underneath which induces a current flow in the sensor. The pads flatten out over time and dirt, oil and food can accumulate under the pads between the pad and sensor. This causes decreased sensitivity and poor function of the buttons. You may be able to carefully remove the overlay and clean it and the underlying circuit board with spray electronic cleaner. This works for awhile, but I usually just replace the overlay. The new overlay comes with a new layer of adhesive. Hope this helps.

Have a Invacare Pronto m51 Sure step. Trying to change batteries and the seat seems to be stuck

Turn chair on its side. get spray pb blaster on it. set chair upright and wiggle seat back and forth to loosen. It takes work but after it is apart use grease on mating parts so they do not stick together anymore.

Why won't my m51 sure step power wheelchair won't move ihave tried a nother controller

There are a number of reasons that could explain why it isn't working, and you haven't provided enough information to give anyone a shot at figuring out the problem. First, why did you replace the controller? And are you speaking of the controller down inside the chair, or the joystick controller. Did you get any flash codes at the joystick, and what were those? Most Invacare control systems are made by Dynamic Controls, but you can't just throw in a part from Dynamic Controls, because Invacare has tweaked them so that you can only use the control systems from Invacare.

There's just not enough you are telling us. Sorry.

Need operating manual

goto invacare.com when the home page comes up on the left side of the page you will see product catalog under that select Wheelchairs and top end. Next screen select Power Wheelchairs. Next screen select Pronto Series. Next screen select non-powered seating. Next screen select Pronto M51 with Sure Step. That is the last screen on the left side you will see owners manual select that and you can print it out with Adobe. Good Luck Hope this helps

One of my residents has a Pronto M91 Sure Step and it turns on, the horn button works, the speed buttons work, but it WILL NOT turn off. Please help me. Would that mean I need to change the joystick...

just replace the keypad or if you are mechanically inclined remove joystick take the top off and glue a small piece of foil to the bottom of the on/off button reassemble and try that if that doesn't fix it order a new pad from a provider in your area

One red light three green flash when turned on

Your chair has a motor problem. The code does not tell which side it is. Make sure both motors have the brakes in the drive position before turning on the chair. Also check that both motors are plugged into the main control module in the base of the chair.
