Universal remote programming code for str de697 reciever I am trying to program my ATT uverse remote to operate this reciever.

Here are the list of Sony remote codes :
5017, 5023, 5028, 5029, 5030, 5031, 5032, 5033, 5095, 5096, 5097, 5113, 5117, 5121, 5125, 5129, 5133, 5134, 5136, 5146, 5162, 5163, 5169, 5170, 5171, 5172

Here is how to program the remote.
  1. Turn on the Receiver.
  2. Press and hold AUX and OK at the same time.
  3. Release both the AUX key and the OK key at the same time. All the Mode keys should flash twice.
  4. Enter the four digit setup code and the AUX key will flash three times indicating correct entry and return to normal operation.
  5. Point the remote at the Receiver and press the power button. If it turns off the receiver it is now programmed. If not Repeat steps 2-5 until the remote turns off the unit.

I have a problem with Sony STR-de697. the problem is that no means no sound is heard on AM / FM and anywhere else, please for assistance. thanks

AM and FM have mute circuit that no signal comes thru antenna (hope you installed external antenna ) no sound generates at all ? with computer terminolgy "garbage in ,garbage out"
Additonally , If this happens on CD,DVD or casette as well
What about speaker selector? A or B ,(based on your speaker wiring ) is properly selected or not?

Sub output

I had the same problem - had to 're-boot' the system to make it connect. See page 17 of the manual. You need to turn it off, hold the on/off button for 5 sec until you see ENTER, then hit enter - you should see CLEARING and CLEARED. Then you have re-set up the system. It was the only way I could connect the sub woofer.
